After Sollozzo's visit with the Corleones, Luca Brasi is sent by Vito to infiltrate Sollozzo's organization and report back with information. During the meeting, while Brasi is bent over to allow Bruno Tattaglia to light his cigarette, he is stabbed in the hand by Sollozzo. Brasi is able to stop the attempt on his life though, and flee from the scene. On his way out the door, he runs into Philip Tattaglia, Don of the Tattaglia crime family.

With the death of Philip Tattaglia, the Corleones are on the verge of war with the Tattaglia family. Sollozzo abducts Corleone consigliere Tom Hagen, and sends his final offer to the Corleones to accept his offer. The Corleones refuse, and issue an ultimatum to the Tattaglias turn over Sollozzo or face a lengthy, bloody and costly (for both sides) gang war. The Tattaglias of course refuse, and instead send the Corleones "a Sicilian message," in the form of ...

I'm trying to figure out what PFIDC was doing.
Maybe throwing out the 4 family names as some bizarre way to camouflage that he might - in the future - get a beat on the reds?
If so, that's an interesting tactic.

For my money, it's redwill. To be honest, Pavel's vote on redwill at the very end seems like the kind of rash move that he probably regretted right away, but originally thought it would insulate redwill from any suspicion. In addition, redwill trying to deflect the vote from PB earlier in the day phase, stating that we should "give him a chance".

On the other hand, did the reds kill pfidc, hoping that his last "WE SHOULD SEER REDWILL" comment would lead us astray? Who knows. But I really think redwill is the best option here.
