Since this is Rangers fans West here and since there's a crazy lovae affair for anyone whoever wore a Pens uniform thought I'd ask if anyone saw Gauthier lay Straka out last night a minute into the game. The most devestating hit of the year by far of any Flyer if not the league. I thought maybe Gauthier done that little twirp a favor and might have straigtened out his eyes.
Here it is for anyone who didn't see it.

It's a shame that division battles and tough fought games have to come down to a stupid ridiculous gimmik like the shootout.

Gotta admit, that was one hell of a hit.
What in the world was Straka doing? I know he decided to 'skate over' the puck alongside the boards, and he was looking back over his left shoulder initially, but wow, once he turned it's almost like he never even realized another skater was there.
He's awful lucky the outcome wasn't worse than it was, looks like he hit the boards square on the shoulder blades before his helmet struck the glass.
Nasty Nasty Nasty. But it's those clean hits that are my favorite part of hockey.

ZZZIIIIIINNNNG! LOL! That was funny Ex.ExPatriatePen wrote:Moving to NY from Pgh toughens you up a bit. I can testify to that.Jim wrote:So when did Straka stop being so fragile? A thi like that during his last tenure in a Pens jersey would have shattered multiple bones.
Gotta give Straka respect for coming back and playing well.
I love Gauthier. I never really focused on him when he was in Calgary but man he does this game in and out. Has to be top 3 heavy hitter in the league I'd say.
If Hatcher remembered what it was like to nail a guy every once in a while the Flyers blue line could be dangerous.
