Ducks no longer Mighty...

Post by The Ghost of Mark Kachows »

... new name, logo, and color scheme in Anaheim...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2308588

"The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim will be no more when the 2006-07 season begins.

Club owners Henry and Susan Samueli, who finalized their purchase of the NHL team from the Walt Disney Co. in June, announced Thursday that the club will be known as the Anaheim Ducks beginning next season."

and from the Post-Gazette:

"Apparently, in looking for a new name, the NHL club in Anaheim considered the Bears, the Condors and others.

It ended up settling for something more familiar.

Starting next season, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim will be the Anaheim Ducks.

The team is expected to unveil a slightly altered logo with new team colors of green (which is not far from teal) and orange."

Hm... I installed it, but it still asks for a user name/password.

In any event, I like the change. Mighty Ducks sounds horrible. Colors sound ugly, but we'll see I guess.

I was hoping they'd try, "Los Angeles Mighty Ducks of Anaheim".

Right-click in the login field and then select "Login with Bugmenot." (Note: You need to close and re-start Firefox after initially installing Bugmenot.)
