I know some here have visited our site in the past or gone over to at least check it out. For those who have I would just like to mention that the owner/admin of the site Jeff Llamana lost his battle with Cancer over the weekend. He was 32. I never had to a chance to meet him in person like many others but still emailed him at times especially even when sick he still made it a priority to send a Christmas card to me and my family every season.

We've had our board battles with the Rangers Cafe their largest online community but they did a classy thing today.

Why I post this. Because it goes to show no matter how many personal insults are thrown at each other ( many by me) because of fan affiliation we're all human and it puts things into perspective even on places such as message boards.

I'd like to think Jeff created a place for not only Flyers fans but sports fans alike to come and air our differences. There are quite a bit of posters from here that frequent that board from time to time so I thought they might like to know. If the same was to happen to someone here I'd want to be informed.

It's going to be ran by the moderators one who was a close friend of Jeff. The financial burden is picked up by all of us through the donations we've had over the years. Anytime there's a financial problem with the board everyone comes together to chip in. We had a Flyersphan t shirt sale not too long ago that still paying for the board to stay up. Us long timers feel the only way to keep his legacy up is to keep the board going.

Nicest freaking guy you'd ever meet. Never once in the 5 years I've been there did he say a bad word on anybody. It's a shame the way life works out taking the good people first while so many scumbags live long lives.

lymphoma.

He discovered it last year when his arm broke at a chiropractor. Through him the regulars on our board created PhansforHope a charity orginization that raises money for this type of cancer.

The Flyers and Phils both honored Jeff in the past few months. The Flyers in December at one of thier games. He was a big man 6-7 400+ so he was unable to get around to well there but still they meant well.

The Phils during their broadcast the other night paid tribute to him as well as the Philadelphia Daily News ran an article. He also was a fan believe it or not of the WBS Pens because that's where he lived.

As everyone else has already said, my prayers and thoughts are with his family. It is such a shame when such a good person is taken from us at such a young age.

Things like this do put boards like this in perspective. We can bicker back and forth and even insult each other from time to time. But in the end, it is all rather meaningless comapred to what happens in "real life."

Thoughts and Prayers go out to friends and family.

Sports may bring people together in argument over teams and games but when tragedy strikes even people of total opposite viewpoints can suprise you with their actions.

I veiwed the sight acouple times but thats about it. I feel bad that a guy a year younger than me died of cancer. It's a sick cruel world and I am sorry to hear about it.

You know FN, this is a perfect example of why character is so important.

(I know I'm preaching to the chior, that your USMC training has taught you great lessons about character, but we have constant debates on here about character issues. (Whether it was Sid dropping F-Bombs or Madden's hyperboyle or whatever) and yet all of us agree that Jeff was an outstanding person... why? CHARACTER.

I heard you make a comment about him that describes an attribute that I've always respected in anyone who was able to do it, you said he "never had a bad word about anyone".

Wow. That is somehing I've always valued. While I may not be have been able to acheive it myself, I understand what a wonderful character trait it is.
