My letter to Politicians and PG/Trib
The Pittsburgh area is in need of a new multi-purpose arena, that will generate a lot of money for our city which we all know needs it. An arena will be used 200+ times a year, with hockey ONLY using it 41 ot at the MOST 57 times. That would leave roughly 150 OPEN nights for concerts, skating events, POLITICAL CONVENTIONS, etc. Let's see PNC Park, we paid for it, didn't want to but we did, it gets used 81 times a year, forget playoffs cause MLB did not fix their financial problems unlike the NHL did this past year. Hienz Field gets used at most around 20 times a year, wow an arena would get used 180 time more per year! Oh and yes it was built with TAX dollars also against the majority of the tax payers. I love the Steelers and Pirates and I'm glad they are here for the long haul, but I love the Penguins too. Island of Capri has come in and offered a $290 million dollar arena, that will be at NO COST OF THE TAX PAYERS!!! And not only will the build the arena, they'll KEEP PITTSBURGH A MAJOR LEAUGE, FRONT PAGE CITY, by keeping the Penguins where they belong right here in Pittsburgh. Did I mention I vote, no? Well I do, and as a voter the stuff I'm hearing about Ed Rendell/Bob O'Connor/Dan Onarato and Forrest City Ent. are very alarming. Seems like you guys got bought off already by that station square group. Now you won't admit it, I know you'll deny it, but hey the voters aren't stupid and there will come a day that the voters show you how they feel about be lied to and will never ever vote for you three in anything that you'll run for. Also Mario Lemieux has done more for this city than you three will ever do, and I don't mean on the ice! From his Mario Lemieux Foundation, to donating money to pretty much all the hospitals in the city, to his celebrity golf tournament, that by the way brings a national TV network to it and also brings publicity to our city every year. From saving the Penguins in 1984, then again out of bankruptcy, the man is just a class act who does not have to live here nor doing anything for the city but chooses to do both, because he cares. Please do the right thing and show the Gaming Board your support of the Isle of Capri plan. In the end you'll have to look yourself in the mirror, and if I did what your doing so far, I would avoid every mirror in the house!

It is a good letter. I sent one also and have recieved numerous responses thus far. The one from Onorato was the one with the most BS. He cstated he will not endorse a single plan due to the fact, if the plan he endorses loses, there will be no incentive for the winner to provide funding for an arena. I tell you politicians have an answere for everything. The thing that bothers me is, they think everyone is a moron, and will just buy whatever garbage it is they are spewing.
