Yotes Broadcast said he is from Fox Chapel.
Parents still live in Pittsburgh and a few of His friends flew in from The Burgh to watch him play tonight.

there is a article on the main page of this site with some info on him

Bill Thomas

I work with his father. He said that when he went to hos first NHL game, he met Gretzky in the hotel and spoke to him briefly. Wayne told him that he thinks Bill Thomas is a gifted goal scorer and looks forward to seeing him play. He obviously has confidence in the kid, as Wayne put him out there for the shootout.

What an awesome experience that must be for a parent. Because I see his father every day, I can live vicariously through him!

Not that Pittsburgh will ever rival Boston ... but is cool to see
Pittsburgh kids make it to the NHL.
All another notch for Mario's legacy in our area.

True. All of the rinks that popped up in this area in the 90's, all of the hockey programs at schools and amateur organizations can all be traced to one man.

So that's why we need to make sure that the team stays, it's the least we can do to give back to 66. He's given or intriduced the gift of hockey to so many people, myself included.
