Upcoming movies - 2006
I wasn't impressed with all the movies that came out last year, yeah there were a few that were fun to watch: Star Wars Episode 3, Batman Begins, and Saw II. Aside from them, can't remember any that really caught my attention or interest.
However, just been checking whats coming out this year, and already many that seem to be MUST SEE on the big screen, for example:
Mission Impossible 3
Poseidon
DaVinci Code
X Men 3
Superman Returns
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3
Saw 3
And a couple of side notes, for that silly side;
Scary Movie 4
Van Wilder 2
You can check them out from the link below:

Not sure if there are other big ones that i may have missed,
What movies are on your list ?!?!

Re: Upcoming movies - 2006
The movie industry has stunk for a few years. You hear the film companies crying about attendence being down but yet tall they put out if crap. Who truely want's to see MI3? Seriiously... $150M to make, plus probably another $50M in marketing... And they wonder why they don't make money???
Out of all the movies listed in this years "Best Movie", "Best Actor", Best Actress" and "Best Director", the ONLY one I had any desire to see was Walk the Line, and that was a let down...
It's a joke!

The movie industry is stuck in the stone ages by refusing to release movies using on-demand type digital cable packages. It would also be nice if people could write something original.
I'm tired of Batman, Superman, or remakes that totally miss the boat.
I have no desire to see the raving lunatic Tom Cruise in MI3 or some comic book XMEN that has extended its stay.
I'll probably watch Da Vince Code because I like Tom Hanks and curious to see how they make the movie after the book and most definitely watching Pirates of the Caribean.

Off the top of my head, some movies that look pretty good that should be coming out soon are The Fountain, The Black Dahlia, and Zodiac.
The movie industry is just like the music industry. There are lots of good movies around, you just have to look a little past the mainstream to find them. Plenty of good movies have come out in the past few years.

Nevertheless, there are certain similiarities, are there not?Daniel wrote:Minus the tortures, LA scenery and Elisha Cuthbert............mostly Elisha Cuthbert.netwolf wrote:I will also go see The Sentinel with Kiefer Sutherland, which might as well be called 24: The Movie.![]()
Yea, I can see how they are similar.

It is also similar to the American President. The location is the same, Michael Douglas is playing a guy who others are trying to get and he needs help.netwolf wrote:Nevertheless, there are certain similiarities, are there not?

So, we have Keifer playing a federal agent in Washington instead of LA and Michael Douglas playing a top Secret Service guy in Washington, instead of the President in Washington also.
The one thing that is completely different is Sledgehammer playing the President.

I guess it is as similar as saying that Clint Eastwood only played cops and cowboys in the 70s. Oh wait..................................

I agree with you jim, all that money could have been spent on a new 3 Musketeers movie.

I don't know just that's probably the most remade movie in history. I hate remakes, and to me that typifies the movie that should never be remade again. We watched walk the line the other night and it was awful. Didn't even watch the whole thing, very disappointing.Jim wrote:rasbatch wrote:I agree with you jim, all that money could have been spent on a new 3 Musketeers movie.

Yeah, it wasn't that good. I read the autobiography the movie was based on. If you like Cash, the book is okay. The movie was a let down though.rasbatch wrote:We watched walk the line the other night and it was awful. Didn't even watch the whole thing, very disappointing.
I cannot wait for this movie. It's going to be so highly quotable. I just can't use any of those quotes on a family board.the wicked child wrote:It's all about Snakes On A Plane.
