I did not realize his career numbers were that good. He has played very well since being recalled. I caught a couple of Leafs games on Center Ice, and J.S. stole both of the ones I watched. I am glad for him.

Hopefully the Leafs will name him starter for next season. It will be fun to watch Leaf Nation miss the playoffs again.

no WAKE UP CP comments ?!?!

no should have kept Aubin, and gotten rid of Caron ?!?!

Anywho,

looks like he finally found a home in TO, could be the end of Belfour, as they go with Aubin/Telqvist as the duo next season

Belfour as backup to MAF.......

Just kidding, don't want everyone to go crazy on me.

That would be cool, just so that I could get some stuff signed...

Well, you said it. There was much doubt at the time he signed Caron as to who was better. Aubin was hated (yes, even by me), but the fact is, he's a better goalie than Caron.

Just look at the numbers:

AHL/IHL
Aubin: 3.02 GAA, .904 save pct
Caron: 2.99 GAA, .903 save pct

NHL
Aubin: 2.88 GAA, .909 save pct
Caron: 3.45 GAA, .893 save pct

The minor league stats are basically a wash, but Aubin has performed better in the NHL. Some of that might be he had the advantage of playing on a couple good teams before the Pens really stunk. But ther eis a big enough difference here that I think I would give the nod to Aubin.

Pleeeeease - those numbers don't mean anything - Caron's been playing in front of the league's worst defense for 2 years.

Aubin's numbers were much better than Caron's last season. Aubin's fate was sealed when Caron got that ridiculous 4 year contract. Still, Aubin is a career backup and those guys are always available, no big loss either way.
