Vancouver...out of playoffs

Post by schreibdog »

The Canucks lose to the Sharks and are officially out of the playoffs for the first time since 2000. Detroit, Dallas, Calgary, Nashville, Anaheim, San Jose, Colorado, and Edmonton get in. Wonder if they would have gotten in had they had a healthy Cloutier between the pipes.

And they are out as Cheechoo gets his 53rd of the year into an empty net. I like San Jose.

Except for Nieminen. He's beyond crap. :P

Let's go Edmonton. I'm rooting against Vancouver. Especially the way they threw Burke under the bus. Oh yeah, and because of that worthless scumbag Bertuzzi. :x

Unreal...Thornton has 94 assists after three more tonight! He and Cheechoo have been ridiculous playing together. I bet he would have reached 100 helpers had he been with the Sharks all season.

And Cheechoo would be pushing 60-70 goals.

Go Sharks!

Just got back from the game, and it was awesome, despite being seated in what seemed to be the Canadian section. I even ran into a fellow Pens fan (I was wearing my #29, of course), which was kind of cool.

A Sharks win on Saturday at Anaheim clinches 5th place and a first-round matchup with the Vokoun-less Predators.

I think its safe to say, San jose won that trade by about 100 miles! Has there ever been a better trade for a team than Thornton to San Jose? He completely changed their season around.

i'm surprised Vancouver didn't make it....they have a great team, it's just the West had so many above average teams, 1 or 2 had to sit out.

And yes, screw Bertuzzi. I hope he never reaches the playoffs again.

How pissed would Boston fans be if Thorton won a cup in San Jose. Personally, I'd love to see that.

I'm glad Vancouver is out, i don't like the team, and they would not have made the playoffs more exciting.

Detroit vs Edmonton will be a more exciting first round matchup.
Although, if Edmonton can get to 7th, it will be Detroit vs Colorado, always fun to watch, but i doubt that will occur.

Dallas vs Colorado, excellent matchup

Calgary vs Anaheim, this should be entertaining as well
Flames are my pick to make it out of the West, but they will be in tough against the Ducks in the first round

Nashville vs San Jose,
Without Vokoun in nets, i have to give the edge to San Jose for this one.

Ofcourse this can all change over the weekend, as teams could move around in the standings.
