He can't keep either. Wasn't Sproles drafted 2nd round? I was wondering how I missed something.Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:Melichar traded Mike Williams to me for Darren Sproles. So he can keep Sproles but not Williams. I guess my last post wasn't clear.

I think i'd keep ridley and flacco. maybe daniel thomas in the hopes that he takes over the starting job in miami. it's probably a year to focus on getting keepers for that team. not picking till late in the 2nd is a killer.

I'm editing my keepers. Swapping Dwayne Bowe (3rd) for Shane Vereen (14th)

Is anyone going to be willing to take Melichar's team?

I would take it if I didn't already have a team just for the challenge. Bunch of sissies.

Thats what I was thinking. The people that are into something like that are already in the league. If we can't get someone, we could try take BPA for the team each time it comes around then set the roster every Tuesday to maximize based on whatever the projections said and just leave it that way.

I took over a team with no keepers in the second season of the league, and I think I have built a competitive, if not formidable, team. I had 1 win that season, however.Idoit40fans wrote:Thats what I was thinking. The people that are into something like that are already in the league. The lack of Keepers doesn't really mean anything. Its a disadvantage, but does not preclude you from making the playoffs and being set up for the next year with a little luck. The lack of a first is pretty horrible though so I thought someone might want to take the team.

The lack of a first and the late 2nd rounder makes it so you kind of have to play for next year. But, the format for this league is perfect for tanking just one season. Just get your roster spots filled earlier than normal, and use the end of the draft to get potential flyers on guys. Getting a stud late sets you up for years.

Tanking is, unfortunately pretty meaningless with random draft order. The best you can hope to do is to trade your 1st and 2nd rounders to help set you up, but not even that option is there.Troy Loney wrote:The lack of a first and the late 2nd rounder makes it so you kind of have to play for next year. In theory if we found someone who wanted in but did not want that team, I'd consider switching if I was given a bit of time to see what deals I could work out.

Thats why it sets up nicely for us to just "default" the team through this season. It would keep it competitive so people don't get cheap wins, but also set it up for being legitimate next season for someone to take over. Of course, finding someone to take over is ideal.

Well, by tanking, i mean drafting for next year. load up on guys that have a probability of taking a jump in value.Kraftster wrote:Tanking is, unfortunately pretty meaningless with random draft order. Re: LGP Fantasy Football Keeper League 2013
Yeah, I guess. The difficulty is by making that your focus, you're probably taking those guys earlier than they would otherwise go. I guess in them mid-late rounds you can do that a round early or something and have an advantage, but it gets hard to predict when guys like that will be taken and you might not get them anyway. To ensure you do, you make them less valuable. I guess the conclusion I am coming to is that it is really tough to trade your draft picks in this league. And while you don't need keepers, when you have teams like beerman starting the year with Foster, Spiller, and Graham, things can look pretty daunting.Troy Loney wrote:Well, by tanking, i mean drafting for next year. load up on guys that have a probability of taking a jump in value.Kraftster wrote:Tanking is, unfortunately pretty meaningless with random draft order. Re: LGP Fantasy Football Keeper League 2013
Yeah, I wouldn't trade places with Beerman. You pretty much have to draft with the strategy of putting a good team together and then maybe as soon as you get your starters, start taking fliers on high ceiling players early rather than getting better bye week fill ins.

I didn't even realize Spiller was thought of as a first round pick until I said I'd do this again yesterday.
My strategy is made up as I go, I never really plan ahead.. That being said, since I already have 2 first round RB I'd be willing to trade the third overall pick for a package of picks.

How many players can I keep? Is there a rules rundown somewhere?

Re: LGP Fantasy Football Keeper League 2013
The max number of keepers is 3 with no minimum.
Players are kept for a draft pick prior to the pick they were selected with in the previous draft. So if a player was picked in the 10th round last year he can be kept for a 9th this year.
Players drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds can't be kept.
Players can only be kept if you acquired them via the draft or trade.
You can only keep a player with your own draft picks. (Can't keep a player with a pick you obtained via trade.)
As to scoring and roster size, much has already been posted in this thread recently.
It's a non-PPR.
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex (WR/RB/TE), Defense, 1K.
No waivers unless a player is dropped.
No limits to number of pick ups, drops, or trades.
I believe we go by the default Yahoo trade deadline date during the season but otherwise trades can be made at any time during the off season. Draft picks and players are able to be traded.
I think that about covers it.

Also do bonus points at 100 yards rec/rush and 300 yards pass.

Only other thing is note is as you keep players in successive seasons you keep them for a pick earlier than you did the prior season, i.e. where you "drafted" them that year. Originally drafted 5th round player is kept for 4, then 3, then 2, then can no longer be kept.

You guys still need one or no? Sorry, I completely spaced on the fact that I inquired yesterday. No obligation...but if you're not finding someone, let me know what team I am (Melichar's?) and I'll do my best with it...

Mikey,
Melichar's team is yours if you want to join. It's sort of a crap situation to come into, sorry for that.

Is it a money league or just for fun?
