His play looked no worse to me than what I see from Scuderi.
My Uncle said he heard it has something to do with off ice problems.
If that is true, than Jackaman's benching makes sense.

CP might be working on trading him now.

Pretty sad that Jackman is still around because of the impact he had after the Berehowsky trade in 04, with scoring almost a point per game during that run to the end.

For whatever reason, Jackman couldn't live up to the expectations he set for himself. I think he is still servicable, but he does us no good in the press box.

Gotta do better than the Tarnstrom trade if CP trades him. I just don't see how we get much good for him.

Trading Jackman won't net much. What team offers value for a consistent scratch?

The guy's an enigma...high draft pick...projected talent...produces after the Berehowsky trade, then falls out of favor...

Let's not go overboard here. Let's not pretend that CP has a clue.

I smell future considerations.

Patricks stratagy is to devalue his assets as much as possible before trading.

Honestly, Jackman can put up points. If CP is all set on trading him, let him play before the freakin trade so he can rack up some numbers so that we can justify asking more in a trade.

this just baffles me

Patrick's issue is he HATES anyone who questions his authority or ability. Jackman made it known he wasn't happy when Edzo was here, being the scapegoat, and he's sure as heck isn't happy with Therrien benching him.

I can't begin to tell you how far the game has passed Patrick and Lemieux by this season. They are stuck in 1992.

Devalue. Devalue. Such a simple word but it describes so much about Patricks current management technique. Tarnstrom was incredible in 02-03. The Penguins were on pace to break NHL RECORDS until Tarnstrom got hurt. Tarnstrom had arrived in 02-03 as a very effective power play sepcialist and his trade value was at its peak (after he recovered of course) . In 03-04 he proved he could do it without Kovalev and Lemieux. He lead the team in scoring. Comming into the season he was awarded a nice arbitration salary and CP wasnt happy and wanted to trade him. HIs value was never higher yet they let him show the world how much worse is liabilites are with the new rules. THEY GOT JAGR VALUE IN RETURN.

Jackman will get nothing because they wont pair him with a stay at home guy and let him attack. They wont even PLAY him. He was FIFTH in the entire world of the NHL for over 50 games in a row among NHL defensemen and he made only 800k. Now his value is dropping and they just dont see it. Or they do and they dont care. Or they see it, they care, but they just dont have what it takes to convince anybody anymore. Hell if it wasnt for EJ the Francis deal never happens or Lemieux never comes to town so lets stop saying Patirck is some kind of savior or Hall of Famer. He is O VER RAT ED.[/b]

I say they can Patrick now and let EJ be GM the rest of the season. He can't do any worse.
