nothing quite evokes romance like a frozen tuesday morning in july.

We just moved in together. I wake up earlier, (shower, make coffee, compress). I left the ring with a little note next to her coffee mug to find when she went to pour her coffee. Went with the subtle surprise.

Also should include, i was still at the house when she found the proposal.

pro tip - open a macys registry and link it to a macys card. every day purchases that you make while the registry is open, you get 3-5% (cant remember specifically) back on a gift card after your wedding. weve had one open for 2+ years

We registered at sears, target and macys. Macy's for the same reason LITT mentioned. Sears for tools, Target for just random household stuff. Originally we weren't going to do any registries because we had lived together for 3 years before we got married, so we had pretty much everything we needed, but the biggest thing the registry was used for was replacing crappy stuff with nicer stuff. Silverware, cooking tools, sheets, luggage, etc. Also, from my experience, we barely got anything on the registry for the wedding itself. The bridal shower is where all the registry items get bought and given to you. Best of luck with planning. Hopefully your soon to be wife was as calm and non-bridezilla as mine was.

A registry that pools together all the different stores.

We did Target and Macy's. I couldn't find anything at Macy's I liked. Neither could she. We should've done sears.

My buddy who just got married registered for this thing called a "honey fund." People could put money towards their honeymoon, buy them a dinner on the beach, trips to the spa, snorkeling, etc. This was in addition to their registry at Target or wherever. Thought it was a cool idea.

My wife wanted to do that too, but I wasn't a fan. So many people are going to bring money anyways, just take that on your honeymoon. We had people buy stuff for us on our honeymoon too, but it wasn't something that we specifically asked for.

My old lady and I decided we don't want a registry. Everyone we tell this to seems put off and tells us that people will buy us gifts anyway. That's all well and good, but we don't need pots and pans. We're adults. We'd rather them give us money we could donate to charity.
