The crew the authorities hired didn't have the proper credentials to transport hazardous materials over D.O.T. highways.Troy Loney wrote:It sounds like Texas isn't doing anything right to prevent outbreak in dallas. the guy was sick in an apartment complex for two days and it doesn't sound like they've gone through the sterilization process of the building.
Um...didn't the authorities look into that before hiring the crew? I think I answered my own question...
Imbeciles.

That's what news outlets do. Think about how local broadcasts over hype any bit of snow in the winter.Letang Is The Truth wrote:If Nigeria could prevent an outbreak, i'm sure Texas can.

That's exactly why health experts have been working for weeks trying to stem the panic. Developed nations are prepared to deal with ebola and prevent a full on outbreak.Letang Is The Truth wrote:If Nigeria could prevent an outbreak, i'm sure Texas can.

Frankly I'm disappointed the local news has yet to find a Pittsburgh connection to the Ebola outbreak. They're slacking!stopper40 wrote:That's what news outlets do. Re: ¡EBOLA!
First I was told it would never spread there.
Then I was told it would never come here.
Now I'm being told it will never spread here.
I feel like we are playing the Price is Right Yodel game with this, and that little guy is getting closer and closer to that cliff... and that we are just hoping for him to stop, the bell to ring, and we win the furniture set.

Re: ¡EBOLA!
If they've been able to contain it in Liberia and third world countries, I am pretty comfortable with our ability to do the same here. I'm not sure who told you it would "never spread" there since there have been multiple localized outbreaks since the 70s. It happens, but this is some strong fear-mongering if people are really worried about catching Ebola in the States.

A lot of it is media driven. It's a sexy news item. Stories about it will get people to watch/read.slappybrown wrote:If they've been able to contain it in Liberia and third world countries, I am pretty comfortable with our ability to do the same here. Re: ¡EBOLA!
At Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, a patient is in isolation with "flu-like symptoms and a travel history that matches criteria for possible Ebola," according to a statement from the hospital. Lab results indicate the patient has another illness.
