Oh, really? I thought it was just a really slowly developing TV show.

Why would you want someone to watch the first one but not the rest? Any answer you come up with works in my favor.

I have never seen episode 1. I have seen all of the other ones. Any of episode 4-6 stands alone.

You are one of the goth kids in the south park dance episode.

Episode 5 stood alone on my VHS shelf for a decade.

I don't want them to, but one is better than none. And 4 is the only one that's a story encapsulated in one film...if you didn't know there were sequels, you wouldn't think there would be any because it ends so cleanly. While 5 is really good as well, it kind of forces you to watch 6 to see how it ends.

4 is a must, 5 and 6 are "you really should" and I wouldnt care if someone hasn't seen 1, 2 and 3 because they suck

As far as I know, there isn't any new content on the new edition. There are cards of concept art, and a reprint of the Alien comic that was released in 1979.

Put it this way; I'm not buying it.

How many hours long is Star Wars now? How is it surprising that someone that doesn't like fantasy movies wouldn't sit through that?
When the first one was made, there was no assurance that there would be a series. It's a story unto itself. Just watch the two hours of popcorn fun and call it a night.

eh...of the ones i've seen, i'd rank them in descending order. I presume that if I ever see 1, that won't change.

In my life, I have played hooky from work to go see a movie on its first day of release twice:

Star Wars Episode 1

Prometheus

If I walk into a room, and have no other obligations, and no other movies are around, and Star Wars is just starting, I will do my best not to walk out of the room.

I'm not going to buy it, and not going to spend valuable time on it. Maybe if I'm laid up in the hospital after a motorcycle accident AND all my homework is done. And I can't operate the remote. Perhaps then, and that's if I don't nap first.

Have never seen anything remotely involved with Harry Potter. So when I went through that section of Universal today, I was pretty lost. But the special effects on the rides were pretty good and they've certainly created a nice financial racket for all of those people that bow down to that franchise.

For the longest time, I got ridiculed by a cute flirty co-worker about never seeing any of the Back to the Future franchise. So to somewhat impress her, I binge-watched all 3 in a 4-day span. A lot of good that did me!!

Tim Robbins is pretty bad, but he's great in Shawshank, The Hudsucker Proxy and High Fidelity.

When I hear that people haven't seen Star Wars I feel like they're a bit too proud of that fact. Just watch it; it's a classic.

Casablanca was actually quite entertaining for being so far from anything I can really relate too.
Rosemary's Baby was just odd and quirky, but not very good.

A friend of mine doesn't understand how I don't like action movies (I'm a dude). I just don't get into anything action-y outside of the Bourne movies, in general. Little Miss Sunshine, Broken Circle Breakdown, whatever Paul Rudd is doing - those are my type of "films".

5, 4, 6 is the correct order. I won't comment on the abortions that are 1, 2, 3.

Is Tim Robbins bad?

Add to that list Mystic River and Jacob's Ladder. Are we judging him exclusively on Antitrust or something?

Bull Durham too.

There are a lot worse actors than Tim Robbins to gripe about.

He's totally reasonable actor and far better than most.

He was bad in War of the Worlds, but other than that I've always found Tim Robbins to be solid.

Dead Poets Society
The Godfather
Casablanca
Raging Bull
Clockwork Orange

Outside of Dead Poets Society, I have no strong desire to see the rest of those.

My wife gets mads that I have not read certain books - Harry Potter (I did read through Prisoner of Azkaban), Hunger Games, Divergent, etc but I see the movies but then never read the books. I can't do that. Once I see the movie, I can't read the book. I tell her talk to me again about these when you have read some Tom Clancy or Michael Crichton books :)

That's one of them. The other is that movie he did with Martin Lawrence. I'm just too aware that I'm watching someone act when I watch him.
