I went back and spoilered some of my stuff just in case for PFiDC.

I will spoiler this too, but just my rambling thoughts....
Spoiler:
It's so odd, and maybe this shows how invested I am in these characters and this show that for as much as I wanted Gemma dead for all that she did and has done since day one. For all the lies, all the deaths she caused...I wasn't happy when she finally bit the bullet. I thought I would be happy. I can't even describe what I felt when he pulled that trigger. That whole scene, you can see the pain on Jax's face, you can see that he absolutely doesn't want to do it, but he knows he has to do it, and Gemma knows it has to be done as well by her saying "it's who we are etc". She was almost reassuring him it was the right thing to do. He knows that even though it must be done its still him killing his own mother. That pain and anguish on his face it made me feel like I couldn't be happy when he finally pulled that trigger. It seemed like more of a sense of relief for him, but it's still a son killing his mom and for all the wrong that GEmma did... I just can't be happy about it I guess. Did she deserve it.. sure, but I just felt completely different than what I had imagined I would feel. I know that makes no sense, but yeah.

I know what you mean. There was a point on the show where seeing her get her comeuppance for all the **** that she caused seemed like it would be the payoff that we all wanted... but ultimately seeing the pain on Jax's face and in his eyes... it just took away any 'joy' that might have been felt at that moment.

Haven't watched yet and haven't read the thread. Can someone PM a yes or no if either of the kids die. That's something I'm willing to have spoiled as a warning. Just yes or no. Thanks.

Spoiler:
Gemma had to die so the club has a chance to survive all of the mess she caused with this season alone. At least SAMCRO will be able to say it essentially took care of the problem that created the mess. I think that was why Gemma was saying it had to be done. The MC did some shady shady shady stuff because of her this season.

Also... I think the Irish Kings are setting up the club. They're going to get the entire club in one spot, Connor will be there, from the roof top the IRA will just destroy the Sons and say they caused too much heat finally and the chapter needed to be wiped out. Cue the reaper. Lol.

Hmmm...

I think I expected more.

I did get misty eyed when
Spoiler:
Gemma was shot. I felt for her as a parent and Jax as her child.

I thought the previews spoiled the deaths a bit.
Spoiler:
As soon as they said Sutter would be hosting the aftershow with Gemma and Unser, I figured they were both goners.

I watched it a second time yesterday and I think the second viewing is much better than the first.
Spoiler:
Jax is going to die. That is a foregone conclusion. I don't think there's a super secret plan to get him out of it. He spent the entire episode (and will spend some of the finale) tying up everything he needed to tie up to reduce the violence in Charming and make sure SAMCRO RO is set moving forward. His conversation with Nero not only sounded like a "goodbye forever friend" but it was definitely his way of telling Nero to take care of his kids when he is gone. He left 2 bodies, 1 inside the house and one out, somewhere in Oregon with no care to them being found. He committed suicide, almost literally, in the meeting with the Presidents. He is sacrificing himself for the good of his kids and his club.

Sutter was right when he said it was masterfully directed. The second watch made that clear. It opens with Jax putting on snow white shoes and ends with him taking off blood stained shoes. If that's not a metaphor for the entire series I don't know what is.

I would almost guarantee that nothing happens to the kids now. That would be in poor taste even for Sutter. Up until Tuesday's episode there was a chance but I don't think so anymore. Jax will say goodbye to them in the finale but with Abel being so young I don't think he will understand or Jax will be so vague it won't matter. I got misty eyed during the Gemma/Jax scene from this week. I'm pretty sure I'll be bawling next week when he says goodbye to his kids.

While I'm still excited to see how it happens, the ending was spoiled for me due to the stupid Sutter book coming out a week too early and people posting it on FB.

You're kidding...

Even in this day and age where FB and Twitter are the norm I can't understand people doing something like that.

We're going to try and stay up and catch a stream of the show tonight but that is doubtful. Is it a 2 hour finale? I'm guessing it wont be until midnight or 1 am until we could find a stream that works. I'll have to avoid this thread until tomorrow night.

Sutter absolutely reamed people and used lots of language that would earn me a permaban when he was talking about the accidental early shipping.

Sutter went off on whichever publisher it was that sent out the books early. I'm looking forward to getting that book for Christmas, but would be pissed if I had the ending spoiled before hand.
