In general, I think the entire episode could have benefited from tighter editing. Like the wine/bread after the homeless scene. All I could think of during that long insert shot was Sutter saying, "See that. This is deep, man! Wicked symbolism!" Again, took me out of the moment.

I haven't watched the episode again yet, but I thought it ended perfectly. Everything came full circle. I dunno it just worked for me. Loose ends were tied up, nothing was left to question. The story ended, pretty much as it began in the pilot with jax riding down the road, and the crows ... the symbolism(heavy handed as sutter sometimes makes it)....it just worked.

Just a bunch of nice little touches in the final ride so to say. Jax with the "I got this", visiting Opie, and Tara's grave. Ditching the white sneakers for his dad's boots. Also coming to the realization(finally) that his sons can't grow up in the life he did, and that they have to grow up hating the thought of him. I mean how hard must that be to tell someone to tell your own children that you are an awful person and they should hate the thought of you.

I disagree about his kids having to hate him but I live in the real world where things like that aren't, IMO, the best way to handle things. This is a TV show so they don't have to play by the same rules I guess. I'm not sure what is wrong with, "Your dad was an outlaw and a criminal. He did a lot of bad things and the last thing he wanted was for you to end up like him. He was not one of the good guys but he loved you more than anything else and wanted nothing more than for you to stay as far away from the life he had as you can." or something to that effect.

I missed the "I got this". Streams can have messy audio so I didn't catch it. When/where did that happen? Maybe I did hear it and it just didn't register.

I wish I never would have seen an after show. I forget which one I saw but Sutter was on it and just hearing him talk about his work really turned me off to it. He had such a high opinion of himself and a low opinion of the viewer.

The "I got this" was after they stripped him of his presidents patch and he was leaving the club members for the last time before he got on his bike.

I thought that was when I heard it. It didn't hit me as hard as some others I guess.

I love how ever since the end of last season (Tara's death) there was really nobody left to root for (save for the kids). Everyone else was a ruthless killer/criminal. That was one of the main messages. The bad guys lose.

I was rooting for Jax towards the end of the season. I don't if that makes me a heartless sociopath or what, but I thought he finally figured it out. It took everyone he was close with dying, but he finally saw the light(that he should have seen so long ago). So with that I actually rooted for the guy the last couple of episodes. He finally did what was best for his kids, and his club, or at least the best he could do based on what had already happened.

If Gemma doesn't kill Tara you get the big happy ending. Jax transitions out of SAMCRO, nobody goes to jail, the club is tight, and the Teller's move somewhere else and start a new and normal life.

I understand that. I also look at it from a personal prospective. I was emotionally invested in the characters, specifically the Teller family. I wanted them to have a happy ending whether it fit or not.

Life is pain might be a good way to describe the meaning of the series. Obviously I throw out any and all real world beliefs when watching tv or film. I would not be able to enjoy it otherwise.

I would enjoy watching that, but he is doing some other show first that has already started I think.. so it may be a while before we see a Prequel to Sons.
