Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
So this is more of a "pointing and laughing" thread, than a complaint thread?

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
new one today: countdown by the hour!count2infinity wrote:speaking of those people making big announcements about leaving facebook.
I'm starting off 2015 by deactivating Facebook.
Although I spend most of my time on here celebrating life's wonderful happenings with my friends, reaching out to those who may need a listening ear, and sharing pictures of my family with long-distance friends and family, the time has come to put an end to all the noise and madness that unfortunately comes along with the good stuff.
I am returning to keeping a hard-copy address book, writing hand-written notes, and maybe even sending the occasional e-mail with pictures of my kids. No more blasting every moment that occurs throughout the day. Those special moments are to be savored, not broadcasted.
I will be spending from now until December 31 building my address book. If you want to keep in touch, comment here or send me a message so we can exchange contact information.
Much love to you all in 2015!
Countdown to Facebook deactivation! Less than 13 hours to go. If you want to stay in touch, private-message me so we can exchange contact info.
Although I'm having mixed emotions about giving up Facebook, I also see this as a new opportunity to nurture my friendships and relationships--offline. Yes, it will be a challenge, and I may not always get around with the same responsiveness as I would by hitting an enter button. But in the end, I feel that "quality over quantity" will make the communication that much more meaningful.
Cheers to 2015 and new beginnings!

yea, those two posts were by the same person... she also posted a picture of her two kids with:
and a picture of her two dogs saying:These two. Natalie with one sock off and hat crooked and over one eye, and Camden passed out with a vacuum cleaner extension in hand. I'm going to miss sharing moments like these with all of you.
Bye bye, Facebook. Love, Max and Apollo.

I don't think that woman realizes that not a single person in the world gives a **** about her and her stupid Facebook account
That's like what I hate most about Facebook. Its such an ego trip for everyone involved. Its all "hey! Look at me! I'm telling you the play by play of my life!"

Of the quotes thus far, the order was 1, 4, 2, 3. So yeah, they were before the countdown post.

If you have to write about how much of a struggle it is to give up facebook, and how you have mixed emotions... .I Just .. I Just don't have words for how pathetic that is.

I supported her (based on the little I knew) until this.
Then again this sounds like an actual Facebook addiction so if she can pull it off good for her.

Based on just being on for maybe a total of 3 minutes today, I'm the only person I know who's 2014 wasn't the greatest year of their life
The mundane things I did/accomplished this year just can't stack up to the mundane things everyone else did

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
I know a girl who constantly deactivates and activates her facebook. She doesn't so much as make big announcements about it, but I believe it was last march we were at a mutual friends and she was doing what she always does, takes selfies. Then tried to tag everyone at the party and says to me "We aren't facebook friends?!?!" I told her yeah we had been since college but I'm sure her 30 deactivations a year messed up her friends list.
What she does do occasionally, is announce leaving twitter. WTF? Twitter can be annoying, but is there really any drama on there where you need to continually stop and start your account? She's also one that every few days will go on nonsensical rants over the course of 4 or 5 straight tweets and ends it with #LastTweet. Or she'll post where she went to lunch and say #HungryTweet.
I may have just started a new thread idea, I'm sorry.

2014 was one of the most stressful years of my life. Wife beat cancer, quit job/new job, bought a house, moved to a state I've never really been to. Good riddance, and **** you Facebook for trying to sell it to me as something great.canaan wrote:It's been a great year! Thanks for being a part of it.

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
Had a party a few weeks ago where I had different circles of friends over. One kid decided to bully the other kids, got called out on it and then cried to his mom, literally. She then proceeded to block her status updates from me and my wife I guess because we didn't defend her little **** of a son.
Blocking people you associate as "friends" is so lame.

"So and so checked in at Urgent Care"...no other info.
Seriously? What a desperate plea for a zillion "Oh no! What's wrong?" follow ups. And it was nothing. A cold or something.

Yeah, this from a company that openly admitted it effed with users' emotions by manipulating their news feeds. How could they have possibly thought that year-in-review thing would not be a giant goat screw??dodint wrote:2014 was one of the most stressful years of my life. She's posted 12 photos to instagram since her departure from facebook. I think she just changed her vice. This was the same chick that was afraid to travel back East to see a dying relative cause iEbola! She's crazy, but I can't stop watching the madness.

Yep. Her reasons for quitting Facebook should transfer to other social media as well. She has failed.
