PF, did you know that parrots eat (cooked) chicken meat? OMG.

I gotta get this thing some pet health insurance. Almost $400 for a vet visit with tests and all. Crazy!!!

He now looks outmatched like my parrot when I show him the banana monster.
Can we take that to the parrot thread? I'd like to know more.
Well, nothing to say more other than he's scared of bananas. Like, when I peel it halfway and shake it at him, he gets this terrified look on his face and opens his beak to be ready to strike at it. I'm trying to get him to eat more fruits. He likes peaches now.

Flu or not, I got scared yesterday about a weird breathing/wing flapping thing and took him to the vet. He said he was probably just HORNY. Parrots' mating season or something. True story.

I found a nice vet who has 4 of these yellow-naped amazons. He had 5... dad, mom, 3 kids, but the mom went to heaven.

Got his claws trimmed. I don't know if you guys ever held a parrot, but birds are weaponized. Claws are like little razors... he'll gently walk up the arm, and you've got scratches and often bleeding. And the beak can break a walnut. If you ever get in a fight with a larger bird, run. They instinctively go for the eyes after they sink their claws in your face. I'm wearing swimming goggles.
