If you go to pamelas, you need to get pancakes. That's really the thing they have that is better than anywhere else. The rest of the menu is stuff you can get at any old diner. Took me a visit or two to realize it.

Mac...is Grille 31 still amazing as it used to be? Ex wife and I used to love that place...notably the salad bar.

I did get the pancakes. They were very good, best pancakes I've ever had. I'm just not a huge fan of them. My wife liked them a lot. Not complaining really, it was very good. I just don't get the allure of waiting an hour to get in. Luckily it was a 5 minute wait for us.

The salad bar is very good still, yes. I wouldn't call it amazing but definitely the one of the best restaurants in mt pleasant. My only gripe is the lack of a standard steak on the menu. Seems like every time I go in there if I want a steak it's gonna be $25 with the salad bar for a NY strip. For that price I'd rather go to Texas roadhouse

Burger wise, I prefer regular old Leos to grille 31. Monday and Tuesday night they have a $6 special for any burger

I should've gotten that probably. I had my eye on it but had just heard so much about the crepes.

I personally think tipping is an outdated custom.

It seems like a way for rich people to show off to each other. "Well here maitre d, take this $10 so I have a 'good' seat," or "bartender, if my old fashioned has a little extra bitters I will make it worth your while."

I offer great client service, but I don't get a bonus for it. I get a bonus for cross sells and expanding their program. If I were a server or bartender I would look at upselling liquors or adding appetizers as my chance to make extra money.

I know thats not how restaurants work now, but I prefer the idea of the restaurant incentivizing their staff to provide great service and drive sales than I do relying on a customer to decide how much extra money their meal and service was worth.

Braised beef cheek pierogi? Now there's a high class yinzer.
I have to get either the duck duck goose or Chilean sea bass. I'd also need a side of that bone marrow risotto. Mmmm.

I don't think it's been mentioned before, but Chaya has become my favorite place to get sushi. But should also not that I've not been to Umi.

I went to Social for the first time a week or two ago on a Sunday. They had some pretty decent brunch options (I just opted for wings for some reason).

I really was happy to see they have pints of beer for $3. My biggest compaint about a lot of the places I go is that drafts like Miller Lite start at $5. I'm not going to drink anything if thats the cheapest beer, and something good is $6.50 or $7. Its also why we go to Mad Mex so often - they always have their $5 22oz featured brewery.
