Seemed more like a comment about that jacket being as 90s as could be.

Technically yes. They are not taking in any carcinogens anymore so that is a bonus. They are still severely addicted to nicotine it sounds like though.

yeah, i mean, it's...better? but she's still addicted. all the "good for you great job" back patting posts that followed seem a little excessive, though.PensFanInDC wrote:Technically yes. i guess the question is, while it's an improvement going from regular cigs to e-cigs, is it a very difficult transition to make? serious question.

replace one addiction with a lesser form of bad for you addiction. I don't see anything wrong with it. certain brains are just wired to be addicted to things.

But you didnt beat an addiction. You changed the delivery method very slightly. There is nothing to be congratulated about. Its like congratulating someone for changing to shorts.

See, I don't think it's that easy. "Beating an addiction" is different for people that struggle with addiction in their lives. If you can ween yourself off cigarettes, good for you, no matter what the method.

I don't smoke, so I never cared enough to learn, but what is the danger of nicotine addiction? I'm sure it's not good for you, but I thought it acted more as the vehicle for delivering the horrible carcinogens and not a huge medical issue on its own.

Nicotine is much like caffeine. It gives you the high that you look for in particular products, may be addicting, but isn't the thing that's going to kill you (sugar in soda, or smoke in cigarettes).

i think the e-cigs still have poison in them, so my support of this type of weening is tempered.count2infinity wrote:See, I don't think it's that easy. Certainly depends on the e-cigs and what juice (what is the e-cig liquid actually called?) is put into them.

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
If it is made with American nicotine there is nothing "harmful" in the liquid. Your ingredients are water, propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin , American nicotine, food dyes, and whatever flavoring they use. None of these ingredients (outside of maybe nicotine) are harmful in proper doses and we ingest them regularly in our diet. The problem is that we ingest these ingredients into our stomachs, not our lungs. There has been no serious pre-clinical or clinical inhalation toxicology performed on these fluids so nobody really knows the effects of inhaling artificial banana flavor 50+ times a day. While we could eat that much or more of the artificial flavors in our diet and not see any issue the affect on lung tissue could be hazardous. There could also be different effects on the brain when we ingest these chemicals through our lungs as opposed to our stomachs.shmenguin wrote:i think the e-cigs still have poison in them, so my support of this type of weening is tempered.count2infinity wrote:See, I don't think it's that easy. Inhalation toxicologists usually agree that, without any extensive testing, e-cigs are almost assuredly better for you than cigarettes based on the elimination of carcinogens alone.

I'm currently finishing a bottle of banana bread flavor. I mix flavors with flavorless juice because the flavors are usually super strong. I think I'm going to switch to 100% flavorless so I am not inhaling any artificial flavorings or colors.dodint wrote:Mmmm, banana flavor.

People complaining about the grocery stores being packed yesterday.
1) Sunday is always the busiest shopping day.
2) A major snowstorm is on the way.
3) YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!!!
