You must be looking for the empty waiting room, as it contains all of the people who would have liked the Pirates to match that deal.

Yeah I'm sure the Pirates are desperate to shed his $2M salary.

I don't see any benefit to moving Snider. He's a great depth option to have and is just so....lunchbox

Snider's a keeper, provided that he's not in the starting lineup....which shouldn't be the case.

He'll always have a soft spot because of this pinch hit solo home run in Milwaukee to guarantee a non-losing season back in 2013.

Re: 2014-2015 Pirates Offseason Thread
From Kiley McDaniel on Fangraphs:
" Stephen Tarpley, LHP: Tarpley was a wildcard in the 2013 draft, with questions surrounding his consistency, maturity and makeup dating back to his transfer from USC after his freshman year that led him to Scottsdale JC, the Fighting Artichokes (!). He lasted until the 3rd round but, like Wright, started to find consistency in the 2nd half of 2014. At his best, Tarpley sits 92-95 and hits 97 mph late in games, with a low-80′s curveball that flashes plus (one scout called it a 70), solid average changeup and average slider. The command shows flashes of average, but all five elements can be average to below on his bad days. There are signs that Tarpley is turning it around mentally and off-the-field with his full-season debut coming in 2015 as the next test."

Only makes sense if they go and sign a Schierholtz or someone of that ilk.

The only thing I will miss is Sniders constantly red cheeks, although I look forward to Rocco making up a nickname for Sniders replacement.

I think it's more likely that the 4th OF job goes to tabata, maybe gets hart some starts out there too.ville5 wrote:Only makes sense if they go and sign a Schierholtz or someone of that ilk.

Lambo is freed and Tabata stops eating for 3 hours to wander around in the OF.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:So what happens if polanco falters or Marte gets hurt

Hell yes another season of sitting around wondering if lambo will get a chance. This is seriously great news because there is no better way to kill the time at the ballpark when liriano is taking his jolly old time between pitches than wondering if lambo will turn the corner

I wish we could have gotten Steve Pearce out of this deal. That was weird and uncomfortable to type.
