Re: LGP Sickness Thread
This flu is really kicking my butt. I'm better than before, still about 50% to go. I'm at the stage now where the lung stuff is leaving and coming up to be spit out. Yuck. 2 days ago, I thought I had pneumonia because I had pain in my back (couldn't tell if muscles or lungs) that hurt so much whenever I coughed, I had to "hold" my chest. That Mucinex worked from day one. The spray is hard to use... first time I did it, I got my tongue so that was numb instead of the throat.

Norovirus is about to unleash hell in the PFiDC household. Patient 0 is my wife. I guess there's a chance it stops there but I am assuming that's not likely.

Rough night. Patient 0 is still the only one with symptoms. If the rest of us can make it through today I think we'll be okay...

Son of a *****....
My wife is no longer the only one with symptoms. As eddysnake said before...tell the world my story. See you on the other side.

The worst thing with that is how benign it starts out. It's almost a feeling like butterflies in your stomach, but aside from that, nothing major. Then....boom

That looks like a misleading photo of what happens to you if you get this.

Re: LGP Sickness Thread
all 4 of us had stomach bugs a couple weeks ago. all one at a time. probably better we didn't have it at the same time as the kids, but it sucked that it just dragged out.
now my infant son has a cold, which, to them, is apparently the end of the world. aaaaand my wife went back to work yesterday after maternity leave. so we have a sick kid who isn't sleeping and who won't take a bottle. a sitter who probably wants to start drinking during the day, and my kids spend all day at the sitter's with a little grub who keeps a perpetual loop of germs circulating in my household.
needless to say, my 9 month ban on caffeine has been lifted. i require coffee. hard.

Re: LGP Sickness Thread
Luckily last week it was only one of my boys and myself that tested positive for strep throat. It really wasn't that bad but for the first day. I'm halfway through the antibiotics, and the only really bad day was Sunday, where I had nausea and a pounding headache for most of the day. Neither my wife or our two other boys got strep, but my wife was out of commission yesterday with the nausea and headache I had on Sunday. Just like I was the day after, she is fine now.
Any time something like strep doesn't go through all five of us i'm amazed.

If she had the nausea and headache she probably had it just more of a minor version

Re: LGP Sickness Thread
It's weird because I was diagnosed on wed, sick day thurs, then worked on Friday. Saturday was fine, but Sunday I woke up with a absolutely splitting headache...felt like I'd puke most of the morning. I felt better by the time the Super Bowl started. I don't think it was strep related...just one of those 24 hour bugs.

Re: LGP Sickness Thread
Knowing it was coming I didn't eat anything. The last time I ate was 10pm on Monday. I figured an unloaded gun does less damage. Well I was right in a sense. I'm not sure I would do that again because of how weak I felt but it saved me from other unpleasant stuff.

OK. Because even with practice, I'm still at 50/50, tongue/throat.shafnutz05 wrote:Lol I'm awful at using that spray. Ask Canaan he had a trick he kept going on about that makes it hit the back of your throat every time

Based on the path of the last day, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to wake up with full blown bronchitis.

Yes, but I'm still shooting the spray at my tongue. I had bronchitis in November. My voice is already pretty deep, but my evil laugh was something to behold with bronchitis, lol.

Re: LGP Sickness Thread
On the subject of poop transplants:
Woman Suffers Significant Weight Gain After Fecal Transplant
http://science.slashdot.org/story/15/02 ... transplant" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The really interesting part is that there are mouse studies where if fecal contents from obese mice are transferred to normal mice, the recipients get fat. The woman got a transplant from her obese daughter, and now she can't lose weight. So if anyone needs a fecal transplant, the lesson seems to be make sure the donor is a skinny person.
