Will Pedro's spring training batting average be higher or lower than .170?

Your Friday optimism:
http://www.piratesprospects.com/2015/02 ... -team.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
None of those projections seem insane, and the ones that seem off miss on the low side- namely Marte. If Pedro decides to start his contract drive this year he could fly past his projected WAR.

Salcedo was one of my favorite braves prospects. It looks like he wasnt a 16 year old when they signed him though(signed in 2010 at age 16 traded in 205 at age 23)...i think he was playing behind at each level he played even though everyone thought he was mving along too fast. He was looked at as a 5 tool prospect. Is now a 3rd baseman or more likely outfielder but was signed as a SS.
Anyone know anything about trepagnier?

Late round pick. Has struggled with bb/k. Good frame. Has increased his mph to mid 90s at times. Good ground ball rate. Fits pirates schema. Fringe top 50 prospect in the system

Pondering a new black Pirates alternate jersey for 2015 season. Should I get a #34 Burnett or do any of yinz have a suggestion?

The Pirates now have the 19th pick in the first round after the Padres signed Shields.

And the 32nd overall pick. It's a good spot to lure an expensive high school kid of their college commitment.Rocco wrote:The Pirates now have the 19th pick in the first round after the Padres signed Shields.

I get into PNC park faster than I get into CEC. CEC has no turnstiles and 1/2 the capacity...

At each place, the only thing preventing me from getting to my seat faster is my foot speed.

Yeah at PNC you can get in with no hassle if you don't use the home plate entrance.

ESPN.com MLB guy finished his pre season rankings.
Pirates #3 behind Dodgers and Nationals.
Although, Indians coming in at #4 seems high and puts the list in question.

For you Marte fans, Dick's at south hills village has about 10 white Marte replica jerseys on clearance for $37.50. They had medium, large, and xl there.

Tim Williams on the 2015 bullpen selection.

I guess I'm just baffled that someone who follows the team so closely would even consider pimentel beating out Hughes for a roster spot. Especially considering the money that Hughes is going to make and the terrible performance stolmy gave them last year.Hughes and Holdzkom both have options, but also had the best results last year. Pimentel and Caminero are both out of options, but both have amazing stuff. Holdzkom also has amazing stuff, so I’d give him the inside track. The Pirates will then have to decide between Hughes, a safe pick, or Pimentel/Caminero, who are high risk and potentially higher reward than Hughes.

What's this "amazing stuff" Pimentel has? Dude was a mess last year.
