You gun enthusiasts will like this one.. supposedly the show is set in 2002, right? Well, the gun that Tuco had certainly looked like a Taurus Judge... released in 2010. They dun goofed. :pop:
Not only was it the wrong year, it was rubber as all get out.

I'm really enjoying the series. I wasn't sure what to expect when they announced the series. I wonder how they would do a whole series with Saul. I thought it would be about his time in Breaking Bad but in between everything going on, like the other clients he has and I thought it would be goofier, but I am liking it so far. Very awesome to do like a prequel setting.

From what I understand, they are going to do stories from before Heisenberg, during, and after.

They should advertise it a little more. Some folks living on the moon aren't aware of it.

I'm pretty sure he will to.

Mike is awesome though. His mannerisms, just his whole demeanor the way the character is played is just awesome.

Again I want to mention the cinematography from last nights episode, forgot how good it was on Breaking Bad, and it's just as good on Better Call Saul, everything just shot perfectly, and lit perfectly, and the little song snippets here and there to bring attention to certain things.
Yeah, the shots of them out in the desert were fantastic...the characters shown as kind of small with the background of this super blue sky and pure white clouds.

Good to know Bortuzzo has his acting career to fall back on once his hockey career has run its course.

I just got done with Breaking Bad for the 2nd time. Watched "Felina" last Thursday or I would have had no clue what that was about in the beginning with him working at Cinnabon. Completely forgot/missed it the first time. This show has great, great potential. Standing alone, I'm not so sure, but piggy backing off BB it'll go places. And yeah, I think it was mac that said it, Odenkirk is a great actor. Want to be dramatic, he nails it. Funny, he nails it. Somehow he even pulls off being a badass.

I've been telling friends to watch the show regardless of watching BrBa or not. Does anyone think that you HAVE to watch BrBa to watch this?

I don't. I'm just saying the references so far definitely add to it. Had this been a stand alone show I'm not sure I'd have thought it was as good as I did based on the 1st two episodes. But its only two episodes. I still tell people who haven't seen breaking bad to stick with until the 7th or 8th episode because I didn't really enjoy it until then.

You might not HAVE to watch BB, but there are certainly a lot of things in the first 2 episodes that you wouldn't get if you hadn't. The show may ultimately settle into a groove where it becomes more of its own thing, but I suspect that there will still be moments/characters throughout that noobs won't "get".

Yep. If you didn't know who Tuco was you'd see the end of episode one and might think, "Okay he got a gun pulled on him, something that happens in about 90 other shows." But most of us im sure were like, "Woah, Tuco. Gotta watch the next one to see what Tuco's gonna do with him."

And also lol that "Stop helping" line when they were in the desert was great.

I've loved the start, but I think non-BB fans would just think "Meh". I mean, the Tucco scenes were awesome... Because it's Tucco. The mike scenes, awesome because it's mike. Seeing saulsl start to evolve into what we know he becomes is riveting.

It has potential as a stand alone, but after 2 episodes... I think only bb fans would talk how we are

Agreed as well. I'll be curious to see how this show goes on into later seasons. I just don't see it having a ton of mileage being a prequel to Breaking Bad...we all know how the story begins and ends as Saul Goodman, and I don't know how many seasons you can realistically fill with the leadup to that. One?

I have enjoyed it so far, but I'm a little skeptical about the long-term prospects, if only because of the framework that it's working within.

I'm pretty confident Gilligan and company know the story they want to tell. They didn't let Breaking Bad run any longer than it needed to and never really had any fluff episodes. It ran a tight and concise 5 seasons. Normally writers/producers would have milked Breaking Bad for all its worth and ran it a few more seasons. So I'm sure Gilligan knows what he wants and we won't see much fluff and Better Call Saul won't be any longer than it needs to be.

I could see three or so seasons pretty easily. I mean it's already been picked up for season two. We shall see though.

Yeah, I don't have much trouble seeing three seasons.

I loved the desert scene with Tuco.

I will be curious how much they foray into the post-BB world, since the opening scene of the pilot certainly seems like a fittingly tragic end for one Saul Goodman.

I think past the first episode you don't.

Honestly the thing that stinks as that you know there's plot armor because another show exists. In regards to people we know who have been on the show living and dying.
