Has Lamela done anything to justify his price tag yet?

Impressive win from Spurs. I embrace the recent tactical shift from Wenger, but I question the choice for this game. With the way Spurs press, the defensive mentality seemed to result in aimless boots instead of any sort of controlled counters.

Questionable substitutions. Ramsey looked awful today, he's really struggling to find his touch since returning. Ospina defended his net exceptionally, but seems to be far behind Sczcesny in getting the ball where he wants.

I hate MoPo. Lamela sucks. Hats off to Kane--some kind of run.

Arsenal missed Sanchez. Welbeck was the best Arsenal player without him... and kudos to him, but it shouldn't be like that.

Tottenham's crowd was great. Kane is the best Kane in sports atm.

Yeah, that was a pretty good game. I like both teams and was just glad one grabbed the three points.

From the US perspective, I think Yedlin will eventually fit in well at Spurs. His pace and technical ability will work well for their faster, high-pressing style. Hopefully, he can start making the bench once he gets back from the US camp.

Big win by Pool to overcome Phil Dowd doing what he does best and a solid Spurs team. Going to need to stay hot to get 4th.

Everything that I've read comes to the same conclusion as that article--this is quite irregular, FIFA is leaving money on the table (especially if the US hosts in 2026, which would mean huge ratings), and FIFA is probably buying off Fox so that they don't raise a stink about moving the Qatar WC to winter. TV rights in the past have been subject to well-publicized bidding processes, where different networks compete to see who can promise the flashiest, most extensive coverage, and of course, the most money.

I still have a hard time believing Qatar 2022 will actually happen. I don't think the professional associations will be as keen to suspend their seasons for two months (the NHL is trying to grow its audience, so - even tho I don't like it - participating in the Olympics makes the mid-season suspension worthwhile), and if they keep the normal summer schedule we might see some on-field fatalities.

It may not be the stupidest sporting decision in history, but I'm honestly having a hard time thinking of a worse one.

I keep thinking there's no way it's going to happen too, but every time FIFA seems to have a plausible excuse to move it (e.g. a report comes out that says it dangerous to play there in the summer, a respected attorney conducts an ethics probe strongly implying the bidding process was dirty, big sponsors pull out, dozens of slave laborers die in the construction of stadiums, etc.), they just double-down on it and say everything will go ahead as planned.

The Euro press pretty unanimously thinks its going to happen despite the logistical and ethical nightmare, especially given Blatter will win another term in May. There's no way he would backtrack on it.

ManU cashed in three of their officiating gifts to get past a League 1 side in the FA Cup. Good thing Rooney's English- the media won't care much about his dive to draw a penalty.

Besides the heat there's a bunch of other reasons FIFA should not have a major event in the mideast.

Just an FYI (I forgot), Champions League playoffs start today.

PSG vs Chelsea today. I'm thinking either a Chelsea blowout or a 1-0 PSG win.

The Gunners have a favorable draw and are in pretty good form at the moment. I will be very disappointed to not see Quarterfinals football.

2022 World Cup moved to November/December because Qatar is hot as hell and FIFA is corrupt as hell.

Martin Atkinson reminds everyone he's a clown.

Matic got a red card. Barnes got nothing for trying to break his leg. Mourinho's actually got a legitimate grievance this time.

West Ham definitely got hosed and deserved the w today. That said, I'm okay with the result. Today is great for me. My 2, 3, 1 teams playing today. Spurs, Everton and Southampton respectively.

Meh. Song was sloppy on the challenge and HurriKane had no choice but to embellish at that stage. It wasn't like Song didn't act stupidly. Img: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Spurs didn't play great, buy Adrian made some great plays. Also, Noble should've been sent off for that foul on Bentaleb.
