I think it mostly came out of my dad being a hunter. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world seeing the parts of animal bodies and whatnot. I loved biology and anatomy, but somewhere along the road I just decided that wasn't what I wanted to do.shmenguin wrote:That's tough sledding. Yeah. If I file something incorrectly and the FDA pops in for a surprise audit and finds it misfiled then we could be shut down. That's enough stress for me. I couldn't imagine the stress a surgeon has.shmenguin wrote:That's tough sledding. Hockeynut has my current dream job but it sounds like a supreme pain in the ass, so I can't say I'm interested.

Nope... the weird thing is, all of the horror stories, blood, guts everywhere they do nothing for me at all. I think I should have been an engineer of some sort. Just seeing the inner workings of things and how it all comes together so eloquently to complete a task is amazing to me. I think if I would have become a surgeon, I definitely would have viewed patients as machines that need to be fixed rather than humans.PensFanInDC wrote:Have you considered serial killer?count2infinity wrote:I think it mostly came out of my dad being a hunter. Last January I smoked weed with the chief of staff of a congressman. Hmmm...I wonder if this has any blackmail potential...

I would think you would have to in order to do your job properly. I feel that one would need to disassociate themselves with the person on the table and focus on the homosapien aspect.count2infinity wrote:Nope... the weird thing is, all of the horror stories, blood, guts everywhere they do nothing for me at all. Become a gunsmith. That's what fascinates me about guns, how they work. I enjoy breaking them down and cleaning them about as much as I enjoy shooting them just because they're pure mechanical fun.count2infinity wrote:Just seeing the inner workings of things and how it all comes together so eloquently to complete a task is amazing to me. You're waiting to make sure that's the last thing you need crossed off the bucket list, just in case, right?tifosi77 wrote:'Jaws' was on TV when I was maybe 3 years old. By the time I started kindergarten I could ID about a dozen shark species by their teeth and knew their scientific/Latin names. (Charcharodon carcharias, Galeocerdo cuvier, Prionace glauca, Lamna nasus, Isurus oxyrinchus, Carcharhinus leucas.... blah blah blah) I was forbidden from saying the word 'shark' or 'whale' for a month. About once a every other month, I'd borrow the book "Shark Frenzy" from the library. Ron and Valerie Taylor were my first childhood heroes outside my family. I wanted nothing more than to grow up being around sharks. To this day, the only thing on my bucket list is to free swim with a great white.
Which is why I'm a 41-year old paralegal.

That would have been a good contestent for which occupation here most deserves a punch in the face. All the lawyers would have breathed a sigh of relief.
