No, I meant Stefon was probably #1 because he was the most recent one, and therefore has the most recent impact, hence the "What have you done for me lately"...shmenguin wrote:When it's the most recent character being slighted? Well, there are a lot of people in the world. Of those who saw it, not all of them will probably like it. So, no. You're probably not the only one who didn't find it funny.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:am I the only one who finds Dick in a Box not funny in the slightest?

I stopped paying attention to RS once I found out in a 100 greatest artists list they had Eminem, the Beastie Boys, NWA and Roxy Music ranked but not Queen nor Pink Floyd

I think they might be a bit harsh with "81-92. The New Kids". Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney have been pretty strong additions to the cast, and Pete Davidson shows promise.tifosi77 wrote:

Re: SNL 40th Aniv Show
The main issue with the show right now is the writing just hasn't been very good for a few years and counting -- like the guys above me just mentioned, there is still some solid talent to work with.

Re: SNL 40th Aniv Show
DIAB is everything that the pre-recorded films should be. It's perfect, and it features a celebrity guest doing a decent caricature of himself (in a very loose sense). Not quite as great as Mick Jagger as Kieth Richards, but very good.
Cowbell is everything that is good about improvisational comedy. It has a bunch of guys breaking (Ferrell wore a normally fitting shirt in the four or five rehearsals of the bit, only put on the short tightie about 30 seconds before stepping on set during the show), a celeb guest host completely overacting, a snappy catchphrase.

but the joke is lame and Timberlake is so full of himself that I can't stand him when he's on the show.tifosi77 wrote:DIAB is everything that the pre-recorded films should be. Re: SNL 40th Aniv Show
Also, along the lines of changing things up after rehearsals...... Apparently the reason why Hader broke so much doing Stefon was because his co-writer would treat the bits like Mad Libs. So Hader would go in front of the audience only knowing that he was going to say NOUN at this point, ADJECTIVE here, etc, and the context in which would be saying them. Or they'd make a change to a joke on the cue cards and not tell Hader (which is apparently where Jewish Dracula Sidney Applebaum came from). They were sort of like inside jokes between the two.
