Marianna PA....wow....Haven't heard that name since 1999

We got lost there driving to DC from Pittsburgh in the middle of the night. Ended up on some dirt road unable to turn around. I thought we were going to get kidnapped and tortured by some hillbilly for sure.

it's not.

Probably the first time i'd had a "gourmet hamburger". I don't think anything has really surpassed it yet. Although when I had it a second time it wasn't as monumental.

My favorite burger place now is Butterjoint. I'd probably like Burgatory, but I hate waiting in line to get into a restaurant.

Her lamb burger is supposed to be righteous, as well. (Andrew Zimmern claims Bloomfield straight up stole the recipe from him)

Mushroom Turkey Burger with Smoked Gouda from Polly's Pies. Melting Gouda over mushrooms and sprouts with a turkey patty on a restaurant baked cracked wheat bun.

Big glass of Iced Tea and a side salad with tomatoes.

I'm pretty sure the big chains frozen beef patties are the same as most of the "premium" fast food frozen patties

I have many to nominate, but one of my favorites that hasn't been mentioned and is in Philly is Good Dog, a dive bar on 15th between Locust and Walnut:

good dog -12.5
1/2 lb. of house ground sirloin stuffed with roquefort cheese & topped with caramelized onions on brioche

I would not classify Good Dog as a "dive bar"; at least not anymore.
For a real dive bar see Co Brh's in Altoona.

The Locust Bar is an upscale dive bar and their hamburgers reflect that.

This website always has BK coupons for printout. I usually carry a few of those $8.99 deals on me. BK has my favorite french fries.

There's a bar/restaurant down the hill from me that has a tremendous burger. Big, thick grilled patty, swiss cheese, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion and barbeque sauce on a big toasted bun. Its epic.

Strongly promote slappy's post, I was actually between the Good Dog Burger and the one from Monk's. And lol at the mention of Co Brh's in Altoona, wow. That place is a straight up dive bar, their wings are excellent but not good enough that I will actually step inside the place. I greatly enjoyed The Hitching Post, but have no idea if that place is still open. slappy will get this reference, but Cobrh's was Black Onix' favorite haunt.

Is Roy Rogers still on the turnpike, or are they pretty much gone? I know they renovated all of the travel plazas and feel like good ol' Roy Rogers had to have been phased out.

That disqualifies it from being a "real" dive bar in my book. Not the right clientele.

BBQ place in Waynesburg... Hot Rods. The Garbage Burger. 1/2 lb patty topped w/ bbq pulled pork, cheddar and "texas toothpicks" (which are deep fried jalapeno and onion straws). Ridiculous. They also do a smoked burger special on Wednesdays which is awesome.

Their mushroom swiss burger gets honorable mention... topped w/ deep fried portabellos and a sweet onion dressing that just makes the whole thing.

For sheer ridiculousness, Rudnick's in Mariana... you basically get a meatloaf on a bun. But the meat is really high quality so it's not just a gimmick... they're damn tasty too. You just don't need to eat anything for the rest of the day.

If you did get kidnapped, it would certainly be by a hillbilly.
If this kidnapping happened in flat country, it would've been by a redneck.
So, there's the difference between a hillbilly and a redneck....elevation.
