Re: Drug Legalization; your view?
A powerful and dangerous narcotic painkiller is up for FDA approval, Moxduo, a combination of morphine and Oxycodone. These drugs will physically addict and kill people, but big pharma needs their piece of the pie.

If you take it the way your doctor prescribes you will be fine. It's not always on big pharma.

Proliferating the market with more varieties of narcotics is precisely about making money period.

Yeah, 'cause screw people with incurable cancer who are dying in agony. They should just suck it up, or just get it over with and kill themselves. We all know bullet is a lot cheaper, amirite?

Well it's not like
Heroin Opium Oxycontin Oxycodone Hydrocodone Hydromorphone Fentanyl Buprenorphine Levorphanol Codeine Lorcet Lortab Norco Oncet Procet Vicodin
Are withheld from legitimate prescription, that doesn't include Zohydro, introduced earlier this year. When all they are doing is mixing existing narcotics to likely replace expiring drug patents it's about money, not compassion.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with innovation like this. It will help people who need it and hurt addicts and kids with dumb parents. In the spirit of this thread, you shouldn't make helpful things illegal just because some people can't control their behavior.Grunthy wrote:If you take it the way your doctor prescribes you will be fine. Re: Drug Legalization; your view?
If I ever reach a point in my life where I'm in so much pain I need a morphine cocktail pill I hope I just die. This kind of pill I assume is being marketed to those with chronic pain that is not going away. If anyone has watched a loved one finish the last years of their life on a steady diet of pain management it's just awful. That's not how I want to be remembered.

Legalize, tax, regulate. Otherwise we just fuel corruption of law enforcement and provide a black market for gangs and organized crime. There is no end in sight. WAY better to have it legal.

Legalize, tax (if you must) and regulate (at the state level).

Re: Drug Legalization; your view?
As I've posted before (http://www.letsgopens.com/scripts/phpBB ... 0#p2662042" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) drugs like this one and Zohydro are intended to solve the problem that doctors are afraid to prescribe people with intractable pain (like, say, someone dying of incurable bone cancer) the quantities of painkillers they need lest they be accused of "drug trafficking" or something similar. There are some states—Florida being one such state—where simply being in possession of more than a certain amount of prescription medications permits the government to charge you with drug trafficking. "Take more pills" is not an option.viva la ben wrote:Well it's not like

From the way it looks now, Maryland may be the first East Coast state to do it.

I'll take the way over on 5. I'd set the over under to 15 or 20.

Re: Drug Legalization; your view?
It's basically legal in MD now anyway. Anything under 7 grams is a $25 fine. That's it. I haven't had more than that on me in a very very long time.

Re: Drug Legalization; your view?
No. Technically nothing is legal about it. The police are less involved in trying to catch small time dealers and possession of small amounts is nothing more than a menial fine. For people like me it's basically legal.
