Restaurant Recommendations?

Jean Bonnett is fantastic. The upstairs is a bar with very good bar food. Downstairs is a full menu with an entire seasonal portion. My parents who have retired to our childhood weekend home live nearby and frequent trips home with friends from here in the city always include a trip to Jean Bonnett. Do not miss the crab corn chowder, French onion soup, or warm oatmeal pie. The homemade rolls with cinnamon butter are amazing as well. The complaints about the beer is legit, bottles are the way to go.
10/09 in downtown Bedford may be hard to get a reservation this late in the week, but if you can get in, definitely go. It is top notch in every way and recently expanded and added a liquor license as well which further upped the demand for reservations.
The tavern at the springs is no consolation prize to the crystal room because it is so good on its own. The tavern burger is delicious and a favorite of many who frequent the Tavern.
Bedford is a gorgeous town with a lot to offer. Definitey go to Cove Creek Outfitters on Pitt Street in town. It's owned by the former American Outfitters owners and they carry a massive selection of brands that are very hard to find here in the city, let alone in a small town. Barbour, Frye Boots, Kuhl....brands you can only get at Nordstrom or Little's Shoes, but with a much better selection. I look forward to shopping in Bedford, of all places, more than anywhere else currently. Across the street at Elaine's Wearable Art they have the areas biggest selection of many women's accessory lines like Alex and Ani, etc. Founders Crossing is an antique store right in the corner opposite Elaine's and is very worth a stop in to look around. Hebrew's coffee down Pitt Street is a gem for people that are used to Starbucks and Coffee Tree Roasters on every corner.
Any poor attitude towards what Bedford has to offer is based upon a childhood there, or any small town for that matter. I welcome a trip there as frequently as I can...its a refreshing break from living in the city and it never disappoints. It's the idyllic small town vibe that really delivers with a world class resort, great restaurant options, and surprisingly great shopping. Enjoy.

While in Bedford, ya gotta check out Hoke E Geez on the Mile Level. Fall Foilage Fest is pretty decent. Just didn't like it there for the 5 years I lived here. There was always a, "you ain't from around here, boy" vibe about the place. I did manage to get into a weekly poker game with a bunch of State Troopers. This was good as it was back in my stupid street racer days. Still don't worry much about my speed on the Pike from the Somerset tunnel to Breezewood because of this.

IIRC, my firm did the corporate work to set that store up. Sorry for being off-topic, but for my fellow gun owners, if you want to drool on stuff that probably none of us can afford (certainly not me!), CCO carries super-high-end stuff like Cooper and Blaser rifles and Perazzi shotguns. Say, for example, you have $15,000 burning a hole in your pocket and you want to know whether you should spend it on a Perazzi MX10 or a Beretta DT11 for shooting trap. Cove Creek Outfitters can answer that question.

This gentleman will agree that jean bonnett tavern is a good one. Kenny the kangaroo makes an annual trip to golf at Bedford springs and dinner is always at jean bonnett afterwards. they have a good house beer, too.

Ate at Gaucho Parrilla on Friday. That place is as good as the hype. We had hanger steak, ribeye, steak empanadas, and grilled veggies. Hanger steak is the winner. The pimenton and chimichurri sauces were my favorite.

Friend from out of town happened to be going to lunch there on Saturday, so I went back. I had the steakburger the second day, and it did not disappoint. Smells so good in there.

Butcher and the rye was awesome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. She got the steak and I got the scallops. I enjoyed a couple glasses of scotch as well. Fantastic stuff. Next time we're in town, we're hitting up Gaucho.

I need a recommendation for a high-end (but not Michelin-Star expensive) restaurant in New Orleans. Preferably on the more quiet side, not a tourist trap (it's for a business dinner). Ideally, not far away from Hilton Riverside (because I will be arriving quite late - so I don't want to have a long ride on top of that).
