I've seen just about all of that at the 31st St Pub for a show and I loved it. The bathrooms were the worst thing ever. Glad I'm a dude who doesn't have to touch anything. Usually the smaller/**** a bar is, the better a show is in my experience. So I'm hoping there's 15 people there for the band and I'll get a prime spot to watch them without any interruptions from others.JS© wrote:http://thegreatpittsburghpubcrawl.blogs ... oskis.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;columbia wrote:Speaking of Gooski's. Is organizing and correcting metadata on digital music files still a manual process? I have ~16,000 tracks in my library, and a lot of them are a mess. (Most of the problem files were ripped back before I cared about these details)

There is software that will (attempt to) guess the meta data based on the folder and file names. I've used one in the past and it worked reasonably well.tifosi77 wrote:Is organizing and correcting metadata on digital music files still a manual process? (I don't recall the name and it was not on a Windows platform.)

One cannot agree on just "one" good Megadeth song.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:What's the best Megadeth song?

Never been a huge fan (something about Dave Mustaine that I just don't like), but I think 'Sweating Bullets' is cool.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:What's the best Megadeth song?

Was doing a little separate reading since posting, and it looks like my media player (MediaMonkey) can do some of what I'm trying to do. Will give that a go.columbia wrote:There is software that will (attempt to) guess the meta data based on the folder and file names. This has been one of those projects that I've had on the to do list for like five years.

Re: Let's talk about music
Never was a big Megadeth fan cause I can't stand Mustaine's voice. Always liked them musically, but his voice.. ugh. I guess I'll go with Symphony of Destruction. Probably cliche, but I dig the simple riff. Hangar 18 is up there too.

Re: Let's talk about music
Anthrax's State Of Euphoria album, every rare time I listen to it, feels like a bunch of lost 80s Anthrax b-sides because there really are no standouts on the album and it was such a severe drop off of quality after Among The Living. However, Persistence of Time is a monster that followed.

Hey, Google Play now offers up to 50,000 song storage for free. Up from 20,000.
Can you believe that Apple charges you for a similar service?

I pay $25/year for Amazon Music which stores up to 250,000 mp3s. May seem excessive but I'm well over 120,000 already.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:Hey, Google Play now offers up to 50,000 song storage for free. Up from 20,000.

Re: Let's talk about music
The correct answer to the best Megadeth can be simply broken down into eras of the band.
Beginning 80s Wake Up Dead
Late 80s Holy Wars (that opening riff)
Early 90s Skin of my teeth
Mid 90s Train of Consequences
Late 90s/00s FFF
Mid 00s Kick The Chair and Blackmail The Universe.
As a huge Megadeth fan, like I said...one does not simply think one Megadeth song is the best. Best album btw hands down is Rust in Peace.

I actually think the song Endgame was the best post Youthanasia track Mustaine's managed to ever write.

Really from "killing" to "united abominations" Deth never made a bad album. That includes Risk and Cryptic Writings.

I'm a huge Metallica fan but know that Master of Puppets is my favorite. Don't think, just say your favorite

Saw Anthrax mentioned above...back in the day Id sometimes get to run the scoreboard at my sons hockey games. The rink had a bangin' sound system and Id play Belly of the Beast to 'welcome' the opponent.
