I have an extra ticket for the BC show at the Carnegie Lecture Hall this Friday. It is a totally unplugged vocal-centric show. Should be a moving experience for anyone who possesses ears.

i heard that story song, and had no idea who sang it. that led me down this rabbit hole.

a couple of notes:
-it's a catchy song and i like this lady's voice, but it's not really my type of music
-i'm surprised you didn't pick up on her being a lesbian. 30 seconds into one of her videos, and it seemed pretty cut and dry.

This statement is actually pretty true for me too. Especially true of her recorded stuff. She's got much more of an edge live that doesn't really come through in the studio. Her alt-countryish stuff I like more--like Raise Hell, Keep Your Heart Young and some others.
