I'd make like Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas and lock myself in a hotel room with hundreds of those burgers

Was at the Weis today and saw a display of GG for $1.85/box. Haven't had them in at least 20 years. Mmmm, much better that CTC.count2infinity wrote:foe'dFactorial wrote:Golden Grahams >> Cinnamon Toast Crunch

The only thing golden grahams are good for is mixing them like rice crispy treats and adding some chocolate to them to make smores bars.

The only cereal I eat is Kashi Crunch. Tons of fiber --soluble (cholesterol/heart), and insoluble (digestive), plus a good helping of protein.

I've had the same Riven mousepad at my home computer for about 14 years. The mousepad itself was made in 1997.
The one I have at work is a 2013 RBR Sebastien Vettel that is now very much out of date.

Why do I have to be one of those people that feel guilty about calling off from work? I left work not feeling well Saturday and now I feel awful, but I feel like if I dont go in im letting my fellow workers down. I think in the past 4 years ive called off sick maybe 3 times. Im laying here making myself sicker thinking about doing something that other people seem to due with ease.
I hate being me sometimes.

Re: Juice's Thread of Randomness
I kind of feel the same way. I never take off of work. This job I'm at now for more than a year, I took one day off - December 26th, a day we shouldn't have even been open and half the office wasn't there - to see my family during Christmas. My previous job I worked at for two years and I don't recall ever calling out...FreeCandy44 wrote:Why do I have to be one of those people that feel guilty about calling off from work? I get three weeks and a day off per year, I haven't used any of it really because once I start taking days off, I'll want to always take days off, I'll get out of rhythm and just kind of lose interest I think...
So I'm right there with you...if I'm sick, I'll probably be thinking to myself that morning, "ok, if I just give like a solid five or six hours, I can still get all my work done and go home..."
Here's to a speedy recovery and a frank and productive work day tomorrow...

Re: Juice's Thread of Randomness
I almost left 2 hours early on Friday but felt bad about it so I didn't. I have to feel pretty awful and not have missed a day in a while to call off.

Once I became permanently on call at all times, I switched to just coming and going as I please. I don't even tell anyone when I'm home anymore since it makes no difference in whether or not I'll have to do work.

Re: Juice's Thread of Randomness
I just end up working from home when I'm sick. Our company finally got smart and changed all time off into a PTO bucket. I just get extra vacation days essentially.

Re: Juice's Thread of Randomness
My last company did that, took vacation time and sick time and made it PTO.
Then dropped the accrual rate for PTO to lower than what vacation time was, so essentially there was no longer any sick time and vacation time was harder to get. When they made us take a week of mandatory PTO to save the company even more money I quit.
