Public health is a good reason for legalization, but it's secondary to the legal issue. The government is turning its own citizens into criminals. It's almost surreal, it's so perverse.

It really is; especially from a Libertarian perspective. With socialized healthcare I think we'll start to see the "illegal drug" market take a turn. Everyone now forced to have health insurance will change things.

Legalize cannabis; it's the same freaking thing as alcohol, even less hard on the body.

Legalize psilocybin; it readily grows anyways. You can't control nature.

Legalize medical MDMA for PTSD.

Legalize and regulate LSD/DMT for therapy, PTSD and otherwise.

Meth is already medically legal under the brand-name Desoxyn.
I'm not very experienced in such things, but if you just had your wisdom teeth pulled or something like that, and everything was legal, what would you take for pain? Just cannabis? A cannabis/opiate mix?

I've heard there's a powerful synergy when you combine the two. Maybe enough to keep big pharma pushing their pills. If you have insurance, you're going to want the best medicine - and I have a feeling you can't grow the absolute best in your closet.

This is why I don't think pharma is holding things back. Alcohol and police unions are the most damaging lobbyists, IMO.

That's a very good question. Since the 1930's there's been very little opportunity for the legitimate study of the mild painkilling properties of Cannabis. With research ramping up and legalization just ~6/7 years away, I'll bet they can finally start isolating more and more cannabinoids to identify and extract certain one's that work as basic analgesics.
