Re: NFL
Nick Foles isn't great and isn't a great fit for Chip Kelly's offense, but Bradford sucks, is consistently injured, is overpaid, and isn't a great fit for Chip Kelly's offense. And the Eagles lost the draft pick swap in the process of getting him. It's a horrible deal.
For a ton of money too. 5 years, 70 million, 39 million guaranteed. That's ridiculous money for a 30 year old CB.Rocco wrote:So, remember how Brady reworked his deal and the media sycophants said this was done to help them keep Revis? Yeah, Revis signed with the Jets.

lol exactly. I mean, granted it was just one season, but Foles put up 26 TD and 2 INT a couple of seasons ago. Bradford is 28 years old, has torn the same ACL twice, and has sucked when he was healthy.Idoit40fans wrote:There is no way that Foles isn't a better QB to have than Bradford.

In this case, better doesn't matter. At all.mikey287 wrote:Better to have != better, though. I'm talking talent, one's best vs. the other's best. In which case, it's the inverse of your post - at least to my eye...

Do you think him retiring has anything to do with the Steelers letting him hit FA?kovyfalcon27 wrote:I guess retiring in your prime is easier to deal with than the pain of no longer being a Pittsburgh Super Steeler!!FreeCandy44 wrote:So...ex steeler Jason Worilds retired?

No I was just being sarcastic. He must really not wanna play because he's probably giving up a contract with at least 10-15 million dollars guaranteed.Jofa Guy wrote:Do you think him retiring has anything to do with the Steelers letting him hit FA?kovyfalcon27 wrote:I guess retiring in your prime is easier to deal with than the pain of no longer being a Pittsburgh Super Steeler!!FreeCandy44 wrote:So...ex steeler Jason Worilds retired?

Not sure why I let the Yinzer in me believe that it was the steelers or the highway, although I knew that post was sarcastic. Good for him if he's looking out for himself or his family... that would be hard to turn down that amount of money

Yeah I agree. I always respect these guys for getting out before their brains are complete mush and they can barely walk. I couldn't walk away from that type of money though!!Jofa Guy wrote:Not sure why I let the Yinzer in me believe that it was the steelers or the highway, although I knew that post was sarcastic. Maybe the offers were not coming in like he and his agent thought. Sometimes kids make dumb decisions to 'save face'. Maybe instead of signing a 5-6 million dollar deal, he thought retiring would 'show them'.
I agree with Rocco, I think he will un-retire at some point in the near future.

This seems like a completely off the wall take on this. Where does he need to save face?
He probably has a couple million dollars left and would rather not play football.

He was ranked by every media source as the 2nd best OLB in free agency. He was going to make a boatload of money.lemieuxReturns wrote:Maybe the offers were not coming in like he and his agent thought. Sometimes kids make dumb decisions to 'save face'. Maybe he saw Harrison and Kiesel come back after retiring and just thinks that's how it works.Rocco wrote:This is cynical but I half-expect Worilds to unretire next season. Anyway, can't blame him for not wanting to tear up his body if his heart isn't in it.
