Off the top of their head, does anyone know who Fleury's agent is? Whoever it is, he has been reasonable in the past, look at the contract he's currently on, he knows we need him...I think we'll be fine with Fleury...I'm hoping Fleury wants a DiPietro style contract, I wouldn't hesitate to give him a long, long-term deal...
Would you sign a player to a 15 yr contract?
Sid and Malkin I would. I don't know about MAF. Like Jim said he doesn't always instill a lot of confidence. I think a big part of it is that he always has a piss poor defense in front of him. Sometimes he seems really "on" and other days he's really "off". another year will give us a much better indication which way he is heading.
Crosby, most definitely 15 years, Malkin, although he's my boy i'd like to see a bit more first, Fleury, although he improved quite a bit last year I agree with you on the inconsistency and I would like to see quite a bit more of his play before signing him to a potential long term.

Sid is one of the few players in the NHL that I'd sign for 15 years. Maybe Ovechkin. A contract that long is a very risky proposition.

ESPN Radio 1250 ran some Shero sound during one of their news breaks today. Shero said he hasn't talked to Fleury's agent in a while (I think he said a month) and he didn't sound like it was a front burner issue for him right now. He said something along the lines of maybe we'll get to it before the season, maybe not. We'll see.

I put in a call to Fleury's agent this afternoon, I asked specifically about Fleury and he said he'd get back to me on it...so hopefully I'll have an answer before the end of the week and I'll be sure to pass it along...
