Both teams have a lot of talent now with new coaching and new goalies. I'm thinking EDM, just based on DB's coaching track record of not adjusting and not developing young talent.

I think Dan Bylsma will do good in Buffalo, got to remember the Pens always seemed to win even when Sid or Geno got hurt, he kept us winning. His not adjusting seemed mostly to hurt him and us in the playoffs. He was a great regular season coach. I would go with Buffalo out performing Edm.

I think Buffalo and Edmonton are very similar, but I just feel that BUF has more players who are responsible in their own end. The off-season is still young though and I'll be curious to see how either team tries to shore up their defense. Defense is the big weakness for both teams right now.

Buffalo, and I'm not hesitating to say that. I might end up being wrong, but Buffalo actually filled some weaknesses. Edmonton just added more of what they've always had, and I don't see their defense being vastly improved with adding Sekera and Gyrba. Well, maybe that does vastly improve them relative to where they were, but I still think their D is pretty bad.

Buffalo's biggest issue will be goaltending. Most of whats on their roster wouldn't even be a backup on most NHL squads. Oreilly, Kane and Eichel will def help but I can see them letting in 4+ goals a night.

I voted Buffalo. Edmonton has really been a letdown, even with all the very high picks they've had in recent drafts. It's amazing all the young talent they have - Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Yakupov, and now McDavid - but they still struggle. It's like the team is missing a true veteran leader. By default, I go with Buffalo because they have a coach who has demonstrated he can win & has the championship experience.

I think Buffalo for sure. They've added known good NHL'ers to a team that was "managed to lose" last year. My son's a Sabre's fan, so I was forced to watch some horrible hockey played by guys who had no business being on the ice. The team easily could have fielded a better roster, but they didn't for the chance to get McDavid.
