I would tend to think Rutherford would have taken a hands-off perspective on AS, given how badly he performed in Carolina. Semin, that is.

low risk, high reward. Good signing for MTL. That could be a real bargain if he can play anywhere close to the level he is capable of playing.

I agree, this is a good signing by Montreal. I find it fascinating how Semin's play fell through the floor after he left Washington. Seems like he forgot how to play hockey in Raleigh.
