I bring some very sad news. A semi-frequent poster here - duke66 - recently succumbed to cancer. He had survived an earlier bout, was in remission, and then another form came back aggressively. He passed away last night.
I don't know him personally, but somehow became friends with him on Facebook. I watched him become a father, complain bitterly/celebrate joyously about the Penguins, survive cancer one time, all from 800 miles away. He leaves behind a very young son and wife, and a lot of great friends and family.
He last posted here back in October, so I know he was at least lurking recently.
Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.
RIP duke66

Re: RIP duke66
Oh, man... I don't even know what to say.
I had been wondering when we'd see him again, after he posted his hockey fantasy draft. He'd been here forever. It's great that you got to be, even a distant, part of his life. Thank you so much for sharing your story and the sad news.
Rest in peace, duke66.
