Commented on the chaos, thread, but figured it may deserve a thread of it's own. In a nutshell, seems the NHL wasn't happy about Scott getting voted into the All-Star game, both the Coyotes and the NHL asked him to bow out. When he said no, they decided to screw him over and make it so he couldn't play. If this is true, and there are a few big names in the hockey media seemingly indicating it is, it's pretty disgusting.
To actually force a trade, so he wouldn't be able to be Pacific captain is bad, trading him to a team that has no plans of recalling him from the minors is bad, screwing with a guy like this by trading him half way across the country when his wife is expected to deliver twins when again....the team acquiring him has no intention of playing him (so no sense of urgency), is bad.
I guess bad is too soft of a word. Downright dispicable and disgusting.

Re: All-Star Game Embrassment
:thumb: I would use much harsher word but family board. What's the big deal? Let the guy have his 15 minutes. Half of the players selected don't want to go to your stupid game anyway.

Bettman is making it really hard for me to want to continue watching the NHL. This is just bush league.

(The NHL decision makers) You make the All Star game a circus sideshow event... and then when the fans help make it a sideshow you cry about it...

Re: All-Star Game Embrassment
John Scott back in a Pacific Division captain. Good thing they made it right for him, but horrible that if he actually would have played in some games had he satyed with ARZ, but he is now stuck in the minors and away from his family because of this stupid event.

Re: All-Star Game Embrassment
They should just let Scott be a roving checker like a Bludger in Quidditch where he just gets in the way of everyone. Add in Bobby Farnham while we're at it as the other Bludger and bring in Nathan Gerbe as the Snitch.
And even doing that wouldn't make this event any less ridiculous.

Re: All-Star Game Embrassment
If I'm John Scott, my response is simple. Look at Toews and Ovechkin. I'd rather not be suspended and IF I am not, why are they?FLPensFan wrote:Commented on the chaos, thread, but figured it may deserve a thread of it's own. Re: All-Star Game Embrassment
Glad for him. About the only all-star game I have watched in years and him burying Roenick was even better.
