Reebok Edge can be ordered in size 48 now?
Absolutely not. I am an authorized Reebok jersey dealer. They do not produce them in a size 48. In the booking catalog, you can order 46, 50, 52, 54, and 56. Pro orders for teams have larger sizes available, that are not manufactured for retail accounts.

FYI, for people that have been speculating, I can confirm that the Penguins will have new home and road jerseys next year. The current third will be the home and the road will become a white version with the Pittsburgh gold. Per my rep, next year will be the final year of Reebok branding. The 2017-2018 season will mark the appearance of the Adidas branding on the on ice jerseys.

Adidas owns the rights to produce the World Cup of Hockey jerseys this summer. Those jerseys will have the Adidas branding on them.

Many thanks for the inside information - very good news!

Is there any mention of a new 3rd jersey as well?

Next year will be 2 jerseys only. There is no mention of a third at this point. The only way that would change, is if they participate in an outdoor game of some sort and they create an additional jersey for that game only.

Hey guys.

Whats up with these Mitchell And Ness Stanley Cup jerseys?

http://www.fanatics.com/NHL_Pittsburgh_ ... ey_-_Black" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Should not CCM be producing that jersey since they made the actual jerseys back in the day? And 300$, are they nuts?
---
What if NIKE or STARTER produced vintage versions of the 1991-1992 cup jerseys?

Its just a mess with different releases of vintage jerseys all the time....
---
Luckily I NEVER buy any vintage jerseys, I stick to the originals even though they are hard to get these days!

Will there be any change at all for next years jerseys? Any chance the Reebok VECTOR will comeback on the back instead of the wording REEBOK? Or will it be another boring year with the exact same look?

I think it's probably too early to tell on that right now. Typically, big design changes - like the current alternate becoming the new home jersey and the unveiling of the new road jersey - are announced in the late summer and early fall, prior to the start of the season. Insignificant changes - like the move from the Vector logo to the Reebok text trademark - aren't even announced. I've seen the earliest proof of these things by looking at Dana Heinze's Twitter feed. He posts pictures all the time.

I have a few questions about team yearbooks:

When do they come out? Are they prior to the season, covering stats from the previous year, looking at the new roster, etc...or are they after the season is done, recapping what just happened?

I'm looking to find photos from the 1987-1988 season, but don't know if I should buy the one dated for that season or the year after.

They are published at the beginning of the season.

I just dont understand why they are not changing things up. Why not have the VECTOR logo and the NHL logo on the back hem, like the AHL had for several years? We have had soon 10 years with Reebok and only 2 different sets of jerseys. Isn´t that boring?

There will not be any major changes to the on ice jerseys next year. That ship has sailed. The major Adidas rebranding for the 17-18 season is the focus. They will use next year to blow through any pro backstock for the teams and retail accounts. All of their attention is already being focused on the on ice launch of the Adidas brand.

They'll throw a patch on the arm and call it new.

The 50th anniversary logo that is shown earlier in this thread will be the patch on the jerseys for next year.

Two jerseys in the last ten years?

And they're playing another outdoor game next year. That'll be their seventh jersey in ten years! Don't know if my bank account (or my wife's patience) could handle any more than that!

The only ones I wear now are Fleury's rookie year Koho, a white Letang and Maatta, and new third jersey Kessel. My light blue Malkin and dark blue Crosby have too much negative emotional baggage for me.

I'm with you! I don't wear my blue ones (Staal and Goligoski) for the same reason. When I want to change things up, I go old school with an All-Star or a WBS jersey!

My favourite jersey from the collection:

1995-1996 CCM 3rd Alternate Jersey - Size 52 - New with hang tags!

I am a jammie lover :-)

How rare are these to find? They were never sold in shops, that much I know.

I have considered getting it Lemieux customized, but I am afraid to send this rare jersey overseas.

They're not crazy rare to find, especially the Starter-branded jerseys. However, I can understand your reluctance to send these overseas. What about getting a lettering kit shipped to you and having it put onto your jersey locally? Blurryhaze312 posted here about a year ago about a company who can replicate lettering kits of older jerseys and he highly recommends them: http://keenerjerseys.com.routing.yourhost.co/. You may want to contact them to see if they'd be willing to sell you a lettering kit for that particular jersey. I'd think that, if you have someone locally who can customize jerseys, they could take a lettering kit from Keener and, using a picture of a Lemieux gamer, apply the lettering exactly as it should be.

Yes, contact Keener!

I usually just have him mail me the kits and then sew them down myself. Or, as Jeff said - have someone local do it for you.

So Lesky...does this mean I could get that size 46 Starter model back from you? I've been regretting trading it since the day I let it go!

Well, when I asked how rare it was I specifically meant the CCM Jammies jersey, that were used as the 3rd jersey during the 1995-1996 ONLY.

Starter obviously made the jammie jerseys in 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 1998-1999 and then Pro Player 1999-2000 and then Koho 2000-2001.

The reason the CCM version is much much much more rare than the others are that it was never sold in shops for fans.

The Starter, Pro Player and Koho jammies jerseys were sold in retail shops and therefore maybe the Starter jerseys were produced for example in 10 000 more copies than CCM version was a team issue only. (speculation and estimation only about the numbers)

I asked DINGLEBEARS on ebay a few years back if he could source a CCM jammies for me and he responded: "they were never sold retail, I have never had one for sale". And as you know DINGLEBEARS is the main Penguins jersey seller on ebay by far!
---

Why were the CCM jammies jersey never sold in stores during the 1995-1996 season? Was it because an alternate jersey were such a new concept then?

My understanding is that it was known that the jerseys were going to be rebranded under the Starter name the following year. Starter had purchased some or all of CCM, so of course, Starter would want to have the mass-produced authentics bearing their name. I also seem to remember that this jersey wasn't unveiled until after the season started, so this jersey might not have been ready. There were replicas, that were pretty high quality but included Penguin Logos instead of an NHL logo on the bottom rear hem (see picture), but you're right in that the CCM authentics were never available at retail.

I am afraid not. I already customized it with # 68 JAGR. And plan to have Jagr autograph it before framing it.

The reason I was so interested in your jersey was that it was a size 46 - ideal for framing when you have limited wall space.

I remain incredible thankful I could obtain it from you!
---
For that particular jersey, maybe 4-5 size 52-R new with tags has been sold on ebay the last 2 years and way more without tags.

I have alsoi seen a couple of size 48-R of that jersey sold in ebay since then, and also one size 46. (I saw the size 46 only after it was already sold). If I had seen it before, I would have sent you a PM.

Some dude from PA sold it as BUY IT NOW for only 60$ - new with tags still. It sold only 20 minutes after being listed on ebay. I found it accidently when I made a google search a few days later.

1996-1997 in Lemieux last season the pens jammies jerseys had a STAR LOGO on the back hem along with the NHL logo.

Did they replace the Starter star logo with the STARTER WRITTEN logo beside the NHL patch in 1997-1998?

I thought it was like this:

1996-1997: STAR LOGO
1997-1998: STARTER NAME WRITTEN LOGO
1998-1999: STARTER NAME WRITTEN LOGO

Is that how it was? Or did they use the STAR LOGO for another year after Lemieux retired?

Two pics below just to show both logos:

Some research of game worn jerseys auctioned (no, not on eBay!) tells me the following:
- 1996-97: Oens wore the "S*" logo (http://www.gamewornauctions.net/product ... 9-102.html)
- 1997-98: Pens wore the "S*" logo (http://www.gamewornauctions.net/product ... 5-154.html, http://www.gamewornauctions.net/product ... 9-154.html).
- 1997-98: Pens also wore the "STARTER" logo (http://www.gamewornauctions.net/product ... 5-120.html, http://spartantiques.weebly.com/nhl-ny- ... nipeg.html)
- 1998-99: Pens wore the "STARTER" logo (http://www.gamewornauctions.net/product ... 5-133.html)

If I had to guess - and I do - I'd guess that the team's Set 1 jerseys featured the "S*" logo while their Set 2 jerseys had the logo change the the "STARTER" logo. Either than or the line of demarcation was the regular season vs. playoffs. But the transition definitely occurred sometime during the 1997-98 season.
