Metro team with an Atlantic banner?

Post by CT Mechanic »

If the Islanders come in 7th place, then they play the winner of the Atlantic division. If the Islanders win that, they play the winner of the 2nd/3rd place Atlantic division series. If the Islanders win their second series, do they go home with a banner that says "Atlantic Division Champions" even though they aren't in that division?

I was just thinking about the playoffs and how stupid they are. Because Detroit is in an awful division and should be the 8 seed. They will get to play against the injury battered Lightning. If there is any team you would want to face in the playoffs it would be Tampa. Then the winner of Fla/Isl will get to face a joke of either Tampa or Detroit. The Pens/Caps/Flyers/Rangers have drawn the tough path through the eastern conference.

If you seeded the division winners get the top two spots you have this as of now:

Caps-Flyers
Panthers-Wings
Pens-Lightning
Rags-Isles

Would be better for us for sure.
