Well, it took me about ten years to get around to doing it, but I did it. This thread was what pushed me over the edge (don't know if that's a good thing or not). Lots of photos here that can be used for comparison purposes between years, brands, and models of jerseys. http://jeffshly.weebly.com/
dang, that was a jersey collection, jeffshly!

We last bought new 10 years ago when my wife bought for my birthday from HoH a white Malkin in advance of his first game. Even then, we were in replica price range but they did full sewn nameplate/number while a Reebok replica 87 I was given by a coworker had the fake sewn panels. But I couldn't be choosers since it was a gift!

The first game I took my wife to 19 years ago (March 1997!) I bought 3 jerseys that weekend - two from the team store at the arena - a black authentic Francis ($150 - CCM), and the Lemieux 3rd albeit replica ($140). I gave that Lemieux to my sister, who later got Mario to sign it for her in Tampa about 10 years back. Kind of wish I had kept that one... Somewhere downtown the next day we bought a home white starter authenic 17 Sandstrom at half price, 125, on account of him having been traded about 6 weeks earlier. That one became our random autograph jersey. Almost had the Francis one signed -- but he stopped signing the person next to my wife in the parking lot later that month and we never got back up before he was gone. When the skating penguin came back, we bought a Straka jersey from the team.

Did pick up on ebay jerseys over the years, including a home white Lalime authentic CCM (damn that 56 is huge) that someone sold because it had a ketchup stain on the logo. One wash and it came out. A whopping $30 spent. And I don't think I've worn that one to a game. Others from ebay (all replica I believe) have found to be our game material - that mid-90s 3rd in Barnaby (Koho), a questionable vintage 90-92 esque Stevens, Maska on the tag, but I bought circa 2000. No patches. Hell, looking through the closet, I forgot about the authentic Starter white Jagr (A). Another 56-R. Somewhere there is a white Lemieux (1997) in the closet but it's still folded in a sealed bag. Pretty sure that one was replica and not authentic though.

I'd seriously thought about getting a fresh jersey, either Kessel or Kuhnhackl, but up to $200 for replica and $400 for authentic are a little too steep for my pocketbook right now. But HoH would be my choice to deal with again should we get to that point, as I trust their work. This would be the time, with the Cup patch and all....

Now is the time to buy a jersey. Before Adidas ruins the jerseys with their stripes. I just pray the dont put their stripes on the jerseys. Their logo will be there. But please no stripes!

I love this jersey.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tom-Barrasso-Pi ... 2150427760" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A 1991-1992 SIGNED Kevin Stevens jersey, who was then stripped and kitted with #35 Barrasso.

And it only cost you 600$

Please someone buy, so I dont have waste time clicking on it every time it comes up :D

How is the quality and sizing of the fanatics.com and fansedge.coms penguins t-shirts? Does the sizing fit like Reebok? Or smaller or bigger?

Example product below:

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/produ ... d=99545096" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Old Time Hockey Men's 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins McAdams T-Shirt

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/produ ... d=94807036" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - CCM Men's Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby #87 Vintage Home Player T-Shirt

Does anybody know of a place who ships to europe that has them? Or has dicks some kind unique monopoly on these items?

Dicks does not ship outside USA :-(

Just throwing this out there, Try giving Signature Flags a call of you have a jersey that needs lettered, they do everything from sublimated lettering to authentic on ice lettering, The Penguins use them and so does Pensgear, I've had numerous jerseys done, and they are spot on.... give them a call if you need lettering done

What are the chances of the Jammies coming back as 3rd jerseys or for a one time showing vs the Flyers in the outdoor game?

Was missing a current road jersey, have a Hagelin on the way with a finals patch, Dumoulin can wait until the fall for the new road jersey.

Knock off from Aliexpress for about $50. They get the job done, look pretty good and if it gets messed up in not going to get upset by it.

Will the Indo Edge come back for the new road white/gold uniform? Or will Reebok finish out in style bringing back the 7187 model? Or will Reebok come up with a whole new "semi-authentic" jersey?

I see fanatics.com sells the new home jersey in Indo Edge, so my fear is that Indo Edge will be the farewell tour of reebok retail authentic jerseys

Sizing has been inconsistent based on my small sample size. I got one shirt that fits 2 like it's 2 sizes smaller (State of PA with Pens Logo in it). Another Fanatics branded shirt (Stanley Cup Champs with defeated opponents on the back) fits pretty close to style. I'd say a little slimmer than Reebok's offering, however, some of their stuff has been a gamble lately too, notably the Speedwick stuff.

I would be interested in a 1992 Stanley Cup Champions Pennant if anyone wants to sell.

MY GODNESS.

Adidas has put their stripes on the World Cup jerseys. I would not be suprised if they do the same on the NHL jerseys - its HORRIBLE!

I actually didn't even notice until you said something. I kind of dig it, to be honest. I'll reserve final judgement until I see them in person.

I'm with Haze on this one, though I'm not a fan of the jersey itself. So many things you can do with a USA jersey. This seems, to me, to be pretty plain and lackluster.

What patches will the Pens have this year on their jerseys? Team's 50th anniversary, for certain, but will they also honor the Pittsburgh 200th birthday? Or was that a one day affair last spring? If they do have the 200th birthday patch, will it be on the away sweaters, too?
