I would assume just the 50th.

The Bicentennial patch seems to have been just a one-night thing. Pirates also wore it only a single game I think.

The 50th Patch is in at Consol at least. My brother is grabbing me a few!

Available at the Consol shop.

Guessing it will be up on the right shoulder, just like the 25th patch? Guess we'll see.

blurryhaze312 is that where the Pens are going to put the patch on the jerseys this season? I was thinking putting mine on the upper chest.

No, no - to be clear that was just me guessing where they would put it based on where it looked best/past patch location.

Appears based on the rookie tournament jerseys that the patch will be on the chest, not the shoulder.

I'm hoping that's just where they happened to slap them on for this event. Just too many Penguins in too small of a space - I never even thought about the one on the pants! Shoulder placement would help break that up nicely.

The black "C" is odd...

I'm with you, Haze. With the increased size of the Pens crest, I think the shoulder would be much better. I'm also not a fan of the "C" in this pic. Why go to a throwback so you can make it different?

Dumb question...why is the crest larger?

FYI, picked up one of the $180 Pittsburgh Gold away uniforms at the Southside Pens Gear for $25 last night. It's a Bennett, so all I need to do is head to House of Hockey and get a Trots nameplate!

That makes you wonder a few things:

- Why they customize up so many of them for fringe players and/or guys that hadn't hit the ice in years because of constant injury
- How much THEY buy them for, that they can justify doing the above, as they then have to discount them by almost 100% just to move them off the shelves when the player is no longer with the team

Steve Dave, I was talking about the crest being larger on the "new" Pittsburgh Gold jerseys than they were on the originals. The current crest is the same size (or really close) to the one they used when they first move to the Edge 1.0 jerseys in Vegas Gold. For comparison purposes:

With the smaller crest used on the early-90's jerseys, there was a lot more room for patches on the front of the shoulders (in the top picture, that's the '92 Cup Finals patch, though they wore an NHL 75-year Anniersary patch in that same spot throughout that season). With the larger crest used currently, in my opinion, the front of the jersey just looks crowded.

I've always wondered the same things myself, Haze. Then I thought about it a little bit. I'd have to think that it's the same conundrum that every retail store has: the fact that when people want something, they want it now. It goes without saying that stores (Pens Gear, Dick's, etc.) sell many more jerseys having them lettered and in stock than they did 25 years ago, when you went to Century Sports, Rupp's, or the Penguins Pro Shop at South Hills Village and bought a jersey, then waited for a few weeks for it to be customized, then picked it up. It's all about the instant gratification!

No doubt, Pens gear is selling at a loss just to get rid of old inventory that no one is going to want since a player is no longer with the team. With that said, they make a lot of profit when they sell for $189, and I'm sure they sold enough $189 jerseys that they can dump a handful at $25. I'm just surprised that they didn't keep these around until the team had someone else wearing #19, then have the nameplates switched out. But let's not feel bad for a store that sells a really low-quality jersey that, from everything I've seen online, costs about $20 blank, for $189. With that said, there are NHL and NHLPA licensing fees that drive up costs to the point that a $25 price tag is selling at a significant loss, but in the grand scheme of things, it's about reducing inventory. There's a cost associated with keeping things on a rack and even on a backroom shelf.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if the new gold jerseys' crests increased in size or not.

Have anyone bought one of the Team USA, Team Canada or Team North America Adidas Premier jerseys for the World Cup?

Are the Adidas Premier jersey sizing identical to the Reebok Premier jersey sizing?

I would think they would be sized the same, since they're the same company and most likely the same factory(ies), though I haven't seen them yet. I think the best option, at least for Premier replicas, would be to go to your local sporting goods stores, who should have these jerseys. If memory serves correctly, you're from Sweden, right? If so, I'd guess that the World Cup jerseys would be all over the place there.

Is there a place to get the new road whites online that does stitching and not the heat transfer? I checked all the usual suspects (ice jerseys, river city sports, etc...) and they haven't made their way to those places yet it seems.

I haven't seen the new roads on AliExpress yet either. Every hockey jersey I get from them has been well worth the $30-$40 shipped. Hope they have the patches but I'm sure I can order those someplace and put it on myself.

Looks like CoolHockey.com has 'em. Never bought from them myself, but have heard good things lately.

Seeing Fleury having the "PITTSBURGH" on his mask in the same style the 1993 road jerseys were I wonder if the Stadium jersey will be those but in gold? Or even black?

Everything I've heard points to the Stadium Series jersey being gold and similar to the Pens' alternate jerseys immediately before Lemieux was drafted. In addition, Fleury always seems to get a new mask to match whatever the new alternate jersey is. With that said, I'm with you here. I'd love to see the Pens pay homage to those 1992-93 road jerseys. Simple design, not flashy at all, but there's only so much you can do with a jersey that is predominantly black. I really liked those ones!

Sounds like 2.0 versions of the new away jerseys are going to be in very shortly!
