Hello everyone! This is my first post on the forum and I'm a penguins fan from California. I wanted to see if anyone knows where I can get a blank edge jersey customized. A price estimate would be great too! Thanks

I'd recommend the House o' Hockey in Murrysville, PA. Price estimate would be about $90. In guessing you're the gentleman who contacted me via my website. If so, take a look at the jerseys lettered by HoH. It'll give you a good idea on the quality.

Not sure what jersey you have, but all of the jerseys linked above are Edge 1.0's with authentic lettering kits.

lol! I love when sellers make their own COAs like they mean absolutely anything to anybody other than them!
I'd steer clear of this one unless you can just throw $250 away.

Found some pic of a 1991 Pens jersey on google that someone had colledcte - that looked like this:

What does the logo on the left back hem mean?

Its CCM on the right back hem and then a logo on the left back hem, whats that for logo? What does it stand for? I have never seen it before.

It's just the name of the shop where it was customized at.

Look at the old Century Sports logos on the bottom hem.

It's kind of like how car dealers now have their little logo on the back bumper of cars.

Thanks man. That must take down the value of the item, or am I wrong? I mean, who wants their logo on the hem?

Well, unless it was screen printed on, you should be able to get that off with little to no trouble.

If it's a little vinyl logo it will come off with acetone. If it's embroidered, it will take a bit of work, but you can carefully remove with a seam ripper.

It looks like it was embroidered, much like other customizes have labeled jerseys (Century Sports, Cosby). If it is, in fact, embroidered, I'd be very hesitant to remove it. If this jersey was washed numerous times, there could be some fading, which would effectively leave you with a bolder yellow logo left.

Looks like an authentic to me, though I'd like to see the lettering and tagging, and a customizer's logo just might add to the uniqueness of the jersey.

Do you mean the game worn auction or just a replica jersey? If the latter, House o' Hockey has them.

I went on their website, didn't have. :( But they have an Olesky lol.
They (HoH) have 2 on their ebay store. 1 L and 1 XL. Need 2X to wear over top other clothing.
Thanks jeffy.

Stitched lettering kits, as compared to just the heat pressed stuff - which, if you look closely at their pics, includes sewing down of the "City of Champs" & Stadium Series patches. I might be wrong on this, but I think they also sew down the center crest? Could be wrong though.

To add to what blurryhaze said, there's a big difference between a Reebok Premier replica you'd buy from Dick's or any other sporting goods store versus what you're going to get from the HoH. Your standard Premier replicas will have single-layer lettering that is printed to match the color scheme of the "real" letters, which is always smaller than what appears on authentic jerseys. HoH will use the "real" letters, with stitched tackle twill lettering kits. This was never more apparent than on the most recent Vegas Gold lettering, where HoH would use the actual Glacier Twill textured lettering kits used on the team's jerseys. And it's more durable as well. For the extra $30, it's well worth it, in my opinion.

I've been wondering this since I got the team calendar (Promo Night Give Away).

Anyways, on the 50th Anniversary logo all throughout the calendar it has 4 stars instead of 4 Stanley Cups. Anyone know why this is?

Can teams not give out free promos that use the Stanley Cup? Just a small detail that made me go... "Hmmm..."

Thank you for all the advice!

Here are some pics of the jersey, I managed to buy it.

Its a size 50. I compared the size to my size 44, 48 and 52 golden toes. Its between size 48 and 52. so its a size 50.

Can you tell me, where the size 50 available for retail sale in stores?

According the guy that got it directly from Jagr as a gift, Jagr said it was a team issued jersey he got from the Penguins equipment manager, but not game worn.

From the pictures, what exactly have I picked up? I know least about the golden toe jerseys.

I have 3 golden toe Jagr white jerseys now, so I am considering moving one of them. Best to know as much as possible about them before deciding which one to move.

I'd say that it's unlikely to be a team issued jersey - team issued ones didn't have the "Center Ice" advertisement tag above the white "CCM" tag on the neck.

There was a size that wasn't available to the public to buy, but I think it was size 52. Someone told me a while back which one, but I could be wrong on the exact one. Thought it was 52 though.

If anything - if his story is actually true - perhaps Jagr snagged it from the team store?

The jersey size in ballpoint pen doesn't mean anything one way or the other, as the size was written that way on the late 80's and I think really early 90's jerseys.

One thing that is kind of throwing me off, but might be hidden in that one close-up picture because the tag is folded, is the fact that it doesn't look like it had a "Center Ice" hang tag punctured through the white "CCM" neck tag. Like this:

http://i.imgur.com/IHMlRxB.jpg?1

Though again, you could just be missing it in the photo because the tag is folded.

Lastly, as we talked about before the jersey certainly isn't customized by the team - it was done by that Mc Niece shop.

Ultimately having the jersey be team issued really doesn't add any value to it. It's a cool talking point, but not much else. I have one from the early 90's in that same style that's team issued, but there are only minor cosmetic things with tagging that can prove it. It's not like you're talking about differences in the jersey itself.

Thanks for all the input.

I know one can write any size there and it could be wrong. But I told you I compared it to my size 44, 48 and 52 golden toe. And the size is somewhere in between the size 48 and the size 52. Does that not indicate its a size 50?
