With the expansion draft coming up soon, entry draft and free agency, say by July 4, who will be their most surprising acquisition?
Jagr seems like a great fit. Big name, he seems to be OK playing for a team not destined for the playoffs and it's Vegas. They could also feature him on a top line because there are zero expectations and it's doubtful he would supplant a younger prospect because they won't have any really.

Jagr would fit in great with Vegas. Not sure how well he would produce on the ice though. I'm sure he still loves the night life! lol

With the protected lists released I would think Vegas has to take Sissions. Kid had a breakout a bit in the playoffs and should get better. Neal would be a stupid pickup unless Nashville gives up something to push them to taking Neal.

He'd sign with Vegas with the proviso that he not go on road trips. Just hang out in the casinos as the hockey ambassador. A win-win, so to speak.KG wrote:Jagr would fit in great with Vegas. Not sure how well he would produce on the ice though. I'm sure he still loves the night life! lol

Looking at the unprotected list I can see a ton of big names, they could field a "win now" team real easy. With guys like Oshie, Neal they can get scoring and guys like Vatenen and Methot you got some D.
This doesn't look like the route they will go. They will allow the teams to negotiate side deals to keep these roster players in place. Vegas will select a mid level player and expect a high end prospect or high draft pick to leave those players in place.
This makes me wonder, if they are selecting Fleury, is there a side deal in place for him. His selection just doesn't make sense, unless they are looking to just flip him in a trade.

The site that had Fleury's wife house-hunting in Vegas also has suggested Fleury ends up in Buffalo (Botterill connection).no name wrote:This makes me wonder, if they are selecting Fleury, is there a side deal in place for him. How about a deal in place so that Vegas gets to take Fleury as opposed to the Pens trading him to someone else. Pittsburgh getting a pick+ to keep him on the roster and expose him. A first to Pittsburgh for Hagelin and the ability to take Fleury, the first will be the second highest that Vegas ends up with from other teams.

Biggest surprise? I say Engelland, and that we had to pay for them to take MAF.
