Puljujarvi keeps doing all he can to secure a spot in the top 12. 3 scrimmage tourney goals, first goal of the preseason.

All five players touched the puck on that power play goal.

Koivunen is a smart offensive player. Strong passer.

I don't know if Blomqvist ever saw the puck. A slew of bodies in front of him.

Graves still handles the puck like a hand grenade.

I'm seeing one or two people saying he's the best d-man out there for the Penguins...and a whole mob of people saying he looks like last year. I'm leaning towards the latter. Besides not moving his feet enough, he doesn't think the game well. Watched him leave his man behind the net to try and make a stick block out front, then completely forgot the man behind the net was his, leaving the guy wide open for a good shot if the pass didn't jump over his stick.

Lot of praise for Harrison Brunicke out there. Seen some comparisons to Paul Martin, and another that said better defensively than rookie Maatta, and maybe a slight bit under young Paul Martin's offense/skating ability.

He definitely is smooth out there. Can see the talent. Looks to be a player.FLPensFan wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 7:47 pmLot of praise for Harrison Brunicke out there. McGroarty was noticeable as well. Gets in lanes, finishes his checks, goes to the net. Can tell he has a high hockey IQ.

I'd be more excited for this season if guys like McGroarty, Puljujarvi, Ponomarev, Broz, or Brunicke could force their way onto the roster, and know I will be disappointed when it's Hayes and Acciari and Nieto taking those spots instead.
Go ahead, Sullivan, shock me please!

Agreed. Was debating not even watching tonight for this reason. Didn't want to see some kids do really well and get excited only to have Sully do what he usually does.FLPensFan wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 7:58 pmI'd be more excited for this season if guys like McGroarty, Puljujarvi, Ponomarev, Broz, or Brunicke could force their way onto the roster, and know I will be disappointed when it's Hayes and Acciari and Nieto taking those spots instead.

Apparently our coach thinks so too
