Announcers are funny when they have to fill the air with talk. “Penguins didn’t win their first two games but won their third”. Did they look that the lineups?

Is this game blacked out? Not playing on ESPN+

Puustinen will not clear waivers if he’s sent to WBS.

Bourque said he got slashed and was shaking his hand. Also has some type of lower body issue. Left the ice and went right down the runway.

Puljujarvi looks a step faster/quicker this year. Maybe it's taken this long to fully recover from his hip issues. You'd think he's got to be on the their 3rd line. If he keeps this level of play up and Rakell doesn't return to form he could even be an option with Malkin on the 2nd line.
I thought Andonovski looked good too so far. Good speed and solid work on the PK.

Acciari just standing there with no stick doing nothing at all and watching everything was certainly a choice.

When he scored one of his HT goals the other game, where he burst down the RW boards and cut across the ice to score, a reporter asked him if he would have been able to do that last year. He said no way, no chance. Definitely seems like he is now fully healed and has his speed back.Posterboy wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:50 pmPuljujarvi looks a step faster/quicker this year. While that type of surgery, hip resurfacing, has been a career ender, both Puljujarvi and Patrick Kane had it done recently with success. Maybe there are some improvements in the process.

That's a pretty harsh assessment there. 40+ seconds on the PK without a stick against Detroit's top PP line.DelPen wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:17 pmAcciari just standing there with no stick doing nothing at all and watching everything was certainly a choice.
I hope the hate for certain players/coaches doesn't get so bad that there can't be some measure of objectivity left.

Or take a knee to try to block a cross slot pass?Posterboy wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:28 pmThat's a pretty harsh assessment there. 40+ seconds on the PK without a stick against Detroit's top PP line.DelPen wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:17 pmAcciari just standing there with no stick doing nothing at all and watching everything was certainly a choice.

I dunno, I guess I would cut any player in that situation a little more slack. If he's blocks the pass I give him extra credit having no stick but wouldn't necessarily fault him if he doesn't given the situation he's in.
Acciari's always been a reliable PK guy in his career. He's good on faceoffs, is a righty, plays a physical game. I'm certain I'm in the minority here but I don't see him as much of a liability as most do. Does he have his warts, sure, but I thought he actually played his style of game fairly well when healthy last year. Just my opinion based on what I saw from him.

If I’m on the bubble of my job I do everything I can to stand out in a good way.

I don't disagree, I just don't know how much fault he should receive in that situation. It wasn't 5v5 with a having a stick, it was killing a PP without one for 45 seconds. Many top PP units can make anyone pay in that situation.DelPen wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:45 pmIf I’m on the bubble of my job I do everything I can to stand out in a good way.

Did the feed start late and we missed the Acciari goal that fed me some crow?

Was it Baulivier that played with Sid last game? Whoever was on the left looked good.

Yes. I feel like that's his spot to lose right now. Pens might actually have 3 legitimate lines this season. If Hayes centers the 4th - not bad at all.

Re: Preseason Game 4: Penguins @ Detroit Game Thread
???-Hayes-Accairi is a good 4th. Lots of options. A lot more good depth than recent years. Just hope the best 13 make the team and try to get something for those that don’t make it instead of losing them on waivers.Pitts wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:13 pmYes.
