I like this PP. In roughly 30 touches, I only counted 2-3 times where a player held the puck longer than 3 seconds. I think the quick puck movement will really help them. For one, it will keep them from overthinking looking for that perfect play.

Malkin interfered and held and couldn’t see where his stick was to trip the guy. Take both.

I hope Ponomarev makes the team if only so his go karting can become the new DeSmith disk golfing...

Agreed. Quick puck movement is key. Last season PP was way too stagnant and predictable. Hoping for more success this season!

I am liking what I have seen from him and Pickering. Bodes well for the future if they keep developing for the better.

Brunicke looking solid out there. Kind of like Marino in his rookie year. Smooth, solid, smart.

There are an increasing number of hockey people on Twitter calling for Brunicke to get a 9 game tryout to start the season. Can't say I disagree.

Especially with Karlsson’s status being unknown despite what Sully says. Even on the third pair with Graves would be worth seeing what he can do with St. Ivany starting the season a scratch if Karlsson is good to go, just depends on cap space and if 8 defensemen can be carried if you think both Shea and Ludvig would get claimed on waivers but I highly doubt both would.

Reports saying Ponomarev no longer on the bench. Took a hard hit into the boards on his shoulder earlier in the game.
