They need to give him at least a nine-game tryout. If he looks this good in regular season games, he should stick and be in the top six. If looks this good in the regular season, frankly I’d put him in the top four over Letang who’s declining. Gryz-Letang pairing has been awful. I’d go back to trying Graves-Letang, that’s how bad Gryz looks. Too bad Pickering isn’t ready because our LD is really terrible

I don't see where Burnicke fits on this roster unless Karlsson isn't ready to start the season. If Burnicke makes the team he has to play. Are you putting Graves with his cap hit in the press box eating nachos. That's the only guy you would sit.
Graves is a LD, Brunicke a RD. Who would sit would be St Ivany at this point
I wouldn't sit St Ivany at this point. He hasn't done anything to be a healthy scratch. Unless they think he (St Ivany) can move to the LHS.
If St Ivany could play LD or Pickering was ready, it would solve all,our problems lol. I agree he doesn’t deserve to sit
Grzelcyk/Letang
Pettersson/Brunicke
Graves/St Ivany

Show me what you've got kid.

And one or two of Ludvig, Aho and Shea as scratches. Why not? If he's ready, he's ready. If not, send him to juniors and he'll know what it's like and what his next goal is. I'd love to see Brunicke up for 9, if Karlsson isn't healthy yet. But don't keep him and don't play him, at that speed, send him to the juniors immediately.

Also fire Sullivan.

I wouldn't rush Karlsson back into the lineup. Why not let those pairings begin the regular season and see where things go?
I think any way you can get younger legs into the lineup, you do it—even for a limited time.

Karlsson skated today, but with the injury group. If he is truly ready by next Wednesday, he plays and Brunicke goes back to Junior. If he's still nursing an injury...I'd hold Karlsson out the first 4 games, and let Brunicke play 2nd pairing with Pettersson. Have Karlsson rejoin the team (if he's ready) when the team takes on Buffalo at home on the 16th.
